the other day I was backing into a spot - was a simple one-shot spot to back into mind you - and someone walking by came over to my window - said "let me tell you a story" then proceeded to tell me some story about the person manning the booth into the county park.
So I sat there for a few minutes - in the middle of my back in until this guy got done with his story and I asked him if he would mind if I continued to back in so that I didn't block the road if someone came by.
He moved on - I backed the rest of the way in.
It was one of the most bizarre things I've run into.
When I drove OTR we had a saying.... I don't remember the exact words but it was something like: if you are trusting someone to help you back in and you hit something - you are still gonna pay the bill.
The moral was learn to trust yourself.
So I always make sure I know where my Rig is - and where its heading. If theres a question I'll get out and look for myself.
Like John said. Practice Practice Practice. Soon you'll be able to do it while eating lunch.
