Talk to member Nunya about Arches. Believe he manages a quite nice and quiet campground there, NICE!! OK RV Park is the name.
Mt. Rushmore we stayed at Fort Welkit, nice campground, we really shoehorned Tana in, due to hill and sandy soil and all kinds of issues, but it was quiet and nice. I would share the site number with you, but did not retain it. Sorry. We took what we could get as we rarely do reservations more than a day or so out.

We spent several days in May at Portal RV resort in Moab, just down the road from Arches. Great park, great location!

We used to camp with Boy Scouts and other groups at Custer State Park - specifically Grace Coolidge Creek.
We are hoping to get back there in the next couple of years.

if you don't do anything else while you're there, you have to see the lighting ceremony at Mt. Rushmore. If that doesn't stir your soul, you don't have one! Custer State park is beautiful, too. Take some carrots for the burros.

The Rafter J Bar Ranch RV CG at Hill City SD is a good stop and close to the access road to Mt Rushmore. If time permits take the guided ranger tour around Mt Rushmore as well. It's about a 20-30 minute walk-tour. Dennis

X2 on Rafter J Ranch. From what we saw of other parks this is the best. Several good choices at Moab. Can't really remember the park in Moab we stayed at, something like Horse Corral RV Park or something similiar. Just remembered 'OK RV Park'. Nothing fancy, but too much to see around Moab to remain in park too long.

X 2 on Custer's Gulch. Central to Custer State Park, Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and the exciting road loops and tunnels. That's where we will go back.

We stayed at the KOA at Mt. Rushmore in June and it was incredible! Spaces near the back were spacious and everything was well taken care of! Lots of stuff to do close by! Nice to know that there are other options. Make sure you visit Mt. Rushmore, the Mammoth Site, Reptile Gardens, and the Wind Cave/Jewel Cave. They are all wonderful!
