Bathroom Exhaust Fan Replacement
We have a 2011 3455SA Monty. The bathroom exhaust fan works okay but seems a bit small.
Since moisture is the most damaging thing to a RV, whenever we take a shower I like to rid the bathroom of as much moisture & as fast as possible. The fan that came with the Monty just seems too small for the job.
I am assuming the fan is 12 volt. Is there a bigger fan that would fill the entire opening & still be 12 volt? Is this a wise change to make? How do others handle this problem?
Thanks for any info. Larry P

If money is not too much of an issue I would replace it with a Fantastic Fan. The new ones have a bi-directional switch which allows the Fan to pull air in our out. They are not cheap. I installed a second on in the hall way between shower and commode closet.
Good luck.

I bought a Heng fan similar to Fantastic but only half the price. Not necessary to remove vent, just the inner shroud and old fan. Blows both ways. 2 speeds out , 3 speeds in. Works well, very pleased.

We had installed two Fantastic Fans in the ceiling, one in the living room and one in the bedroom. We used them for a couple years and liked them so well that we replaced the toilet room with a Fantastic Fan. Boy, when you turn them all on high and open the back window you almost have to hang on to keep from being blown around (just kidding). But I would replace the toilet fan with the Fantastic Fan if I were you.

Not sure if I would go as far as a fantastic fan in the bathroom. Remember you want to be able to use it when "necessary" if you get my drift. So if it is cold out and you're running the furnace or if it is hot and have the AC on it won't take long to suck out all the hot or cold air depending on the season. If you can get one of the Vortex replacement fans it should suffice and give more then enough ventilation. Even the factory fan as small as it is works fine for the small closet toilets. I mean when it's on you can feel the air coming in under the door so must be going out the vent which is what you want.

If you opt for the automatic temperature model of fantastic fan, they have a manuel mode that gives you about 8 different fan speeds that vary from really slow to really fast. In cold weather we only use the Super slow speed and it is enough to vent the moisture and unpleasant smell and minimize heat loss.

We opted for the Fantastic Fan in the bathroom simply because it helps cool the rig down when it's hot outside and we don't want to use the AC. You'd be surprised at how much air you can move with three Fantastic Fans. Using it in the bathroom doesn't suck our heat out in the winter nor does it suck the AC cool out in the summer. When we are using it simply as an odor remover, we have it set on low.
