Three step stair to two step stair conversion
The pull out stairs on my 2006 2955RL hang down too far when stairs are folded up. They scrape going into some parking areas and will definitely be too low when I boondock for deer hunting this year. What brand of two step stairs have other people bought and how do you like them?

There are many companies that make them, you just have to keep looking around. I have not seen any more compact stairs out there, but I would think other things would drag also if the stairs are dragging... but maybe not??
I changed mine, but went with the same size. Try Lippert.

Gorgeguy,
There are several selections of steps out there. Chances are you steps have about an 8" rise. If you go to a set of triple steps with a 6" or 7" rise that would raise the bottom of the steps providing for more clearance.
I had the same problem on an 08 2955RL. I did change to a new set after wrecking the original set of steps. The rounded nose type steps work just fine if you do not find the square steps. I used the rounded ones and I liked them better.
Here is a link to a site for steps. You can do some looking and probably find better prices and different riser combinations.
A quick search and here is a link.

Apparently they fixed that problem on the newer models. Our spare tire and several other things will drab before the steps do.

If they fixed the step drag issue on the newer models they would have had to change the rise of the steps.
On the 2955rl with the steps located behind the wheels there is a world of difference in ground clearance compared to the other models with mid entry doors which places the steps in front of the wheels. I cannot count the number of times I drug the 2955rl steps going into steep drives at stations. I bent them out of shape more than once.
I have not had any issues with the 3150 dragging the steps.

Good point. I forgot everyone doesn't have them in front of the wheels.

I bought a set of 2 steps from CW and a portable step. They are not as wide so I got a piece of 3/8 square tube and put a piece on either side of the step then drilled it and bolted it on and it worked fine.

After dragging the steps on my 2955RL across a curb, i replaced them with a two=step-set from stromberg carlson:
http://www.strombergcarlson.com/stor...anual+RV+Steps
I used one of these to make up for the bottom step:
http://images.campingworld.com/is/im...=0,-1&hei=1000
as JOLU said, you can get a three-step set from stromberg carlson with less rise per step.
I chose to maximize the ground clearance and went with the two-step and the portable platform step.

Thank you everyone for your replies. I settled on the Stromberg two step manual step from CW (on sale for only $80). It should solve my dragging problem. I have not measured the Stromberg steps yet, but the three step ones on the rig now hang down 15" when in the up position.

GorgeGuy,
Only drug the steps on our 2955 one trip, but did it 3 times. Got to be funny the third time we took them off and beat them back into shape. By the way, they still work!
Let us know how the 2 riser steps work.
