Sandblaster
I am preparing to sandblast my trailer (5th wheel) hitch and Bedsaver, I sanded a few of the parts with the wheel grinder/sander, but needed a sandblaster for the rest of the parts.
I have a cabinet sandblaster, but needed a system for outside...big parts.
Anyone use these from Harbor Freight? I bought the hand-held and the hopper model.
The hopper model:

You are supposed too getting rid of "stuff", not collecting it.

Yea, Ozz I have one of these kind of a portable ones that holds about 4 or 5 gallons of sand. It works great outside and I don't recoop the sand. Here is what I done. I'm kind of tight, so I made a screen to filter sand that sits on a 5 gallon bucket. I then go to the river and find a sand bar with nice dry sand with my buckets and screen snf start screening and carrying buckets home. I don't go buy the walnut shells and other abrasives. It is a sand blaster, not a walnut blaster. I use to re-do antique tractors and used it for that. Main thing is that the sand must be DRY.....JB

My sandblasting cabinet works well, just never tried a gun like this one with hopper feed, or the one in the link.
I read you can buy the sand at Lowes for under 10 bucks. I have a pail of silicon carbide, I think that is what it's called, so I will try that first.
Part of my task, I just can't get to all of it with a grinder/sander wheel:

Ozz, I bought the small stand alone hopper model from Harbor Freight a few years back. I used it the etch the glass panels in the doors of my kitchen cabinets. I worked ok but had to replace the brass shut off valve as the sand blasted through the side of it. The unit I had did use a lot of air and alto of time was spent waiting for my compressor to catch up.I like the design of the model you show as I think it would work great on smaller projects. Be sure to post how well it works as I might have to pick one up.

I also have a cabinet blaster but when you need to clean up something in tight spaces or you want to blast in a remote location, the model you show is perfect. The down side is you get sand everywhere. Not much worse than spending a week at the beach. Wear a cap and ear plugs. If you've been frustrated cleaning up batteries or cable connections, this blaster makes quick work of the job. Small, handy, and for the money, you can't go wrong.
Hope this helps,
John...... WorkerB
