T.V, Cabin Air Filter
Most of out T.V.and Cars are equipped with a Cabin Air Filter.
Just a reminder to replace they can get pretty dirty and impair Air Flow.
GMC and Chev are located under a panel below the Glove Box our SRX is behind a panel in the glove box.
Changed mine today can not beleive the debris after a year

Thanks for the reminder. Better that the Cabin filter catches all that crap than your lungs or, in the eyes (that happened to me once in an older vehicle while driving on the Interstate and the fan was at full blast). It's scary to imagine what we allowed in ourselves before these were added to our vehicles.
Too bad they don't stop most odors (like on I-5 around Coachella, ewwww). But that's what the Recirc button is for, eh?

Clarification to the Cabin Filters on GMC products. On GMC's and Chevy's 2003 and newer, those filters are no longer installed at the factory. The parts houses show they are still valid for those model years, but when you go into pull them, you find they are not there. Don't ask how I know! I did it the hard way, purchased the filters first then went to work to replace them. Fortunately the parts house refunded my money. Glad I didn't buy them way ahead before doing the job.
Next time I will consult with the appropriate forums to save me some time and grief.

So on our 2007 GMC should we have a space for a filter?

snfexpress,
Unfortunately, no. You can put one in if you want to cut the heater/AC housing. There is a set of notched lines (an outline) in the housing where the original filters were installed on pre 2003 models, but that will require you to cut at the notched lines and then fabricate new cover to seal it once the filters are installed. Here is a link on the Chevy - GMC Duramax Diesel Forum:

Here is another link for those of you who have the earlier models that have them:
