Dallas, TX
My wife and I are planning on going to TX the end of July for the Mary Kay convention. We will be taking our 5er, of course, and I am looking for recommended places to stay. We are Good Sam, SKP and PA if that makes any difference. I believe the conference is at the Convention Center off Reunion or Commerce. Does that sound right?

We like the Vineyard County Park in Grapevine... It is a ways from the convention center but then, most parks will be and traffic moves fast in Dallas. The park is on the water so you need reservations for sure.

The convention center is on South Griffin St on the southern edge of downtown Dallas. There is an exit off I-30 directly to the convention center. Check google maps carefully as it can get confusing down there. S. Griffin actually passes under the convention center. It is about 4 blocks south of Commerce.
Since we live about 35 miles north of Dallas we don't go to any RV parks around here. If you look at campgroundreviews.com, there is nothing listed for Dallas. But there is a KOA in Arlington that gets good reviews. I don't know anything about it though.
Traffic moves fast in Dallas area EXCEPT during rush hour, construction, accidents, rain, full moon, daylight savings time, etc.

Late July in Dallas...50 amp hookups will be a must. I would check into Treetops RV Village, Arlington TX; a lot of permanent tennants, but the park is clean and well run w/full hookups. From Treetops to the convention center will be 26 miles. You could also try Lloyd Park, Grand Prairie TX; distance is about the same, but the sites are 30 amp water/electric only.

I was just thinking of Treetops in Arlington. We stayed there a few years ago and found it to be an excellent place to stay. Just off I-20.

I have heard that Traders Village RV Park in Grand Prairie is good. Anybody have any input on that? I was told it was about 15 miles from the convention center. Is that right? I will look into the above recommendations, also. Thanks.

15 miles sounds about right. It is located in Grand Prairie, on the west/southwest side of Dallas, behind the flea market/trades days grounds.
Don't know anything about it personally, but gets mixed reviews on campgroundreviews.com for Grand Prairie

Drive a few extra miles to Treetops in Arlington. The RV park at Traders Village is more of a parking lot than a campground. I would highly recommend the Vineyards in Grapevine. It's a little further out but the drive time is likely about the same. Mostly interstate right to downtown at the convention center. Drive into town early and have breakfast and you'll miss a lot of commuter traffic from either location.

One would be hard pressed to do better than the Vineyards in Grapevine. Plus, Grapevine is a neat little community to visit. Reservations are a must.
