USAA Bank Question
Everything I've learned from the MOC and the USAA website makes me think I will use them when we hit the road fulltime.
One question I can't ask the bank directly:
I notice they offer only American Express or MasterCard for credit/debit cards. I've found many places will be more likely to take Visa than the above two.
Have any of you used only AmEx or only MC and had any problems?
Thanks.
Larry

I have an American Express Blue Card, which has a terrific (TERRIFIC) cash-back program with no maximum. But sadly, there are merchants who will not accept it.
I'd get one of each.

Larry
I use USAA Mastercard and Navy Federal Credit Union Visa
Gave up on AMEX as they are not honored in places I used to visit
No problems with using them anywhere

Larry, We've had a USAA Visa card for at least 10 years and use it everyday. Surprised to hear that USAA no longer offers a VISA card. Maybe that is why we have been receiving all those offers to switch to AMEXPRESS from USAA.
Cheers, Dean & Mel

Our debit card is a Master Card. No problems at all. Had no problems to Alaska and back and across this wonderful country. We have also used Amex with no problems.

We have used nothing but Master Card and never had a problem using it in any campground. I do suggest that you advise them that you are traveling and camping
when leaving on your trip as their security section monitors your transactions. If they suspect that your card is being misused they will step in and deny any
transactions until you call and verify you are the rightful card holder. Advanced notice of your trip will eliminate that.

I'm with VISA NFCU, and they also monitor transactions and on a double fill at a gas stations, the third fill would not go through until I called them. The flagged that I was on travel until a certain date and it did not happen again. I have an Amex - no charge- but I have not used it in 3 years. I am a member of USAA, but I do not bank with them.

We have been with USAA for many years and have used their MC debit card, as well as their MC credit card everywhere in the world we have travelled with no problems. In fact, I do not ever remember seeing a place that would accept visa and not MC, although I am not challenging that there are such places out there. In the end, if you go with USAA I think you will be happy with their service.

We used the USAA MC for years before we retired and now that we are on the road we are really glad with our decision to go with them. Not only do we get cash back for using the credit card but there is no fees for using any other bank or CU ATM. You just cannot go wrong with them.
