Thank you for your post. I served with the Navy on yankee station. This brings back memories that will live with us all until we die. May God bless all who served and give them peace.

Very nice tribute...but, as I recall, we did not have a lot of support from the home front during those years, so I am not sure that even today we could expect to see this kind of presentation from "any state across the US." Having said that, I am still pleased to see your post...thanks.

Thanks for the post Rondo. I too served on Yankee Station in the Navy and when I got out I just went home as if nothing happened and no one seemed to care.

I joined the Navy after high school in 64 and volunteered to go to Nam. I was sent to several schools and transfered to the Philippines where I served for 4 years, I never made it to NAM except by aircraft but never saw action there.
I am sorry for the way we were treated by the folks at home even those of us that did not see action were then and still are treated as if we all were the cause of the war and we came home to rape and pillage our home town.
I served from 64 to 86 and am proud of every second I served.
For those of you who were there WELCOME HOME
Ever American should have to stand in front of the wall and tell me that those who gave it all were there for all of us.

Two tours there, Oct 67-Oct 68 and Jan 72-Jan 73. DEROSd the day after the accords were signed. Got to say it seems like yesterday when I was there.

70 to 72. USN, aboard the USS Pyro, AE-24 (ammunition ship). Proud to have served, proud to be a vet. One of my friends is now serving in Afghanistan, and my niece is in Korea, both in the Army.
I will have to say, I'm seeing a change in attitude towards vets. I was at a reunion last year, wearing my ID, and a young guy came up to me and thanked me for my service. Shocked the heck out of me.
There may be hope..........

Spent 69-70 at Tuy Hoa in ARRS, in an out of DaNang, finally left aboard our CH-3's in 72 after a night of rockets. Got rocketed again during refueling in Pleiku, really glad to shake the VN dust off my feet in Thailand. Damn, seems like just yesterday and now we grow old together. Fun hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would highly recommend that all veterans come to the Branson, MO, veteran's week celebration held in conjunction with November's Veterans' Day. It is the most popular and largest celebration of its kind. An estimated 40K attended this year. I can guarantee you that everybody will be welcomed home. It is many years late, but it is never too late to thank a veteran. Just about every show here in Branson honors ALL veterans either before, during, or after their respective show. This takes place throughout the year, not just during Veterans' Week. There is a Veterans' Parade and numerous other celebrations. Check it out here: http://www.explorebranson.com/veterans/
