Winterizing the Montana with pictures
I made a slide-show, hope I didn't miss anything except we poured a gallon into each tank, Black and both Grey
I used a bucket to remove all the yuck from each tank and poured it into our stool. Not a feat for the weak stomach.
We had dumped thanks, but there was....stuff left over in them.
On edit, make sure you turn off the water heater black rocker switch before you drain the heater if you are hooked up, also be careful of the hot water if hooked up and draining.
Hope this helps;

Good slide show OZZ. Our pump is more difficult to reach so I just pour the antifreeze in the fresh water tank and with the front of the trailer low I only use 1 1/2 gal. I need to find a pawn shop and buy a socket for the anode rod. That would make life easier for me.

One other thing to winterize that a lot of people miss, the fresh water fill connection. Two ways of doing this, depending on your setup. If you have a newer Montana with the convenience center. connect the blue coil water hose, from it's hookup to the city water hookup. Put the lever in the FILL position. Turn on the water supply. This in turn will pump antifreeze into the fresh water fill and let it run long enough to get antifreeze to the fresh water tank. You'll know when it enough when PINK comes out the fresh water tank drain. You can also connect the blue coil hose to the black tank flush out and put antifreeze in the line to the black tank. NEXT: If you do not have the convenience center, you will have to install a winterizing kit at the water pump, or disconnect the line from the fresh water tank at the pump and connect a hose to the in side of the pump to your antifreeze. To winterize the outside fresh water fill, YOU MUST FOLLOW THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS, OR YOU WILL DAMAGE THE CHECK VALVE IN THE FRESH WATER FILL. TURN THE PUMP OFF. OPEN A FAUCET TO RELIEVE THE PRESSURE ON THE WATER LINES. (This is a 2 person job) Have someone go to the outside fresh water fill. If there is a screen covering on the connection, remove it. In the center of the fill connection is a plastic tip. MAKE SURE THERE IS NO PRESSURE IN THE WATER LINES. Push in gently on the plastic tip. Turn on the water pump till antifreeze comes out the fresh water fill. Do this step last, winterizing done. IF YOU PUSH THE PLASTIC TIP IN WITH PRESSURE IN THE LINES, IT WILL BLOW THE "O" RING OUT OF THE CHECK VALVE.It can be fixed if you find the "O" ring and know how to get the plastic tip out of the check valve, if not you have to buy a new check valve All of this might sound complicated, but it's not once you've done it. Good photo slide OZZ! I’ve started the dreaded process this morning; trying to beat the rain which is supposed to set in real soon. I don’t want to wish my life away but I would rather be de-winterizing instead.

This is my first year winterizing our 07 Mountaineer. However, with our previous rv (Terry TT), I never put antifreeze in any tanks. I just drained them the best I could. I know some water remained in them, but when it froze there was plenty of room for expansion. No different than putting a less-than-full container in a freezer. Am I all wet here? I don't see a need to waste all that antifreeze in the tanks. Everywhere else I agree to error on the side of caution. All comments are appreciated.

I finished the winterization project. I didn’t get it finished before the rain and one of the last things I did was to push in on the check valve at the street water supply connection. When I did this it literally fell apart. Now I will have to repair or replace the valve. The problem is that it doesn’t look like its going to be an easy fix. Anyone ever had to replace this before?

Bill, You should be able to get one from your RV dealer. Shouldn't be too bad of a job. Kerry
