We just finished up our third summer in Uxbridge, Ma. working for the USACE. A great bunch of people and we plan on going back next summer. Not only that but it is a lot cooler there than here in Fla. and the MOC Fall Rally (and my family) was on the way back to Fla. so that was an added enjoyment. Jump in. As the man said, if you are unhappy, hook up and leave. Havae a Good Day

When you work camp at Disney where do you stay? Just curious. I thought the work camping thing worked only at campgrounds.

From those that I know that work in Disney, they get a paycheck and stay at campgrounds in the area and pay seasonal rates. I am sure others will come along and give more information.

As CasaDelSol said, when I work at Disney, we stay at a campground and pay the monthly rate. Disney's Campground, Fort Wilderness, is pretty pricey. There are many campgrounds in the area so you would have a wide choice of selections. We stated at Mouse Mountain, in Davenport, last year and are staying at The Bees in Clermont this winter. When I workamped this summer, we stayed at the camp that I was a Park Ranger at.

Many workkamper positions are filled year after year by the same couples, and in many of the campgrounds we have stayed in they are filled months ahead of time. There are always the exceptions to the rules, or cancellations due to health or death of a spouse of parent. Think the only way to really find out, is call ahead.

Im not looking...I was wondering...those that are on the road might be more interested in work camping now that the economy is not doing well,,or those that are on a capped income,,and if so, is there lots of competition for the openings???

Even Disney is down.. The two restaurants that Helen works at are closed and will not open till December. It may be hard to get work there???
Update..It is hard to get seasonal work here. There are no seasonal positions at all.Helen who is a cast member will maybe be called back for the holidays. Workcamping at Disney looks like a bad idea this year...
