I use a macerator. Looked at the Sewer Solution but found that the macerator setup was better for me.

Orv, that is one interesting statement. I also looked at the macerator, and am wondering how you came to that conclusion? I have a hard time understanding how a macerator could be better in any situation; please enlighten me with your expertise and explanation.
Thanks.
I'm able to pump the sewage to an upstairs toilet in a relative's house when parked there. The Sewer Solution won't do that.

I get it now, you use a macerator with a pump. You have some very loving relatives. LOL Thanks for your explanation.

I don't use anything extra. A macerator is a pump.

Note that some provinces are contemplating banning all phosphate based cleaners as they are a leading cause of eutrophication of lakes. They become fertilizers for algae. Since campground sewage generally goes into a septic system I don't think this is an issue.

I've heard that some use Calgon, some use Pinesol.
What do the rest of you use and how much, how often?

Seems like a liquid soap product would slick-up the sides of the tank and make it easier to flush and drain.
I've tried several and seem to get a better flush and drain.
Only takes a few minutes of flush to get a clear drain.
Do some brands work better then others?

I listen for the flush water fill to change it's tone, you can usually hear the water hitting the sides of the tank that will stop when its almost full, then it's time to pull the plug. I genearlly will do 3 or 4 full or 3/4 full pulls and using the clear plastic conector at the hose conector helps to see the condition of the flush.
Updated edit.
I also have the Macerator pump if I need to do a long run such as when I come back from Q-site, the only down side of the pump is that it is a longer process to pump the Poo than to use a 3 inch gravity dump. I have attached the web site of the pump that I have but there are other pump manufactures out there that do the same thing.

Dannyl,
Careful on soap. The suds could get out of hand and overflow. Cascade, as with some other products mentioned, does not suds up very much but there is a gritty scrubbing action to it - so I'm told.

Hi everyone:
Let me start by saying that I do not want to step on anyones toes
or cause any trouble.
When I first became involved with RV ing my wife had a friend who
makes a product named Always Fresh. We tried it and have used it
ever since with very good results. No flushing, no smell, no solids
and we use the cushy tp. The only time I had any problem was five
months in same spot and got stingy with the water. If you use plenty
of water and dump at 2/3 or more works fine. We do not get anything
for this reccomendation. Check this product out and you will be
pleased.
Happy trails
Glenn

I wanted to throw out another thought....we never got our sensors to work right on our old TT. In reading the owners manual, it suggested a warm salt water solution to be added after a dump and before travel, about 5 or so gallons with a half cup of salt dissolved in the warm water prior to flushing. After driving to the next camp site, we flushed well and all of the sensors worked again. The manual said that the mild salt solution will clean the sensors and the tank causing no harm to the sensors.
If I'm not mistaken, salt is what is used to soften water so I'm not sure if this will take the place of Calgon...but it sure worked for me. We pretty much flush as the others have said previously using a clear pipe to observe the progress.
