Besides, chrome is heavier than paint so it probably adds to the weight over the rear wheels and may be enough to exceed some limit -- at least somewhere.

Simon: Maybe they should make a heated tailgate for THAT group that are recalled. That way your hands wouldn't get cold when pushing them home.g

When backing up with the new chrome tailgate you are bound to get bugs on it. Whats the best bug remover for chrome tailgates?
Inquiring minds want to know.

Chrome is much to heavey so chip off the chrome off the tin and paint it white or black and lets see which goes farther on a tank of diesel ,, but what size is your tank asa that makes a lot of dif as if you have a 29 gal tank it won't go as far as a 46 gal tank unless your foot is in the carb all the time ,, i vote for white but i won't buy white as i don't like the color which is not a color anyway john

Pink shirt John, but you got to get the Pink MOC hat to go with it. Definitely don't want to clash out there with an unbalanced reflection off of Robbie's Chrome louvered Tailgate equipped with his optional Chrome Dodge!!!

Cut a hole in the stock tailgate, place a big 12 volt fan in there, and increase gas mileage when you turn it on. It will act like one of those air-boats. Hey! Maybe there's something to that!!!!

The DW just told me red is more efficient cause why else would the fire dept us it. She says it is a faster color and that's also why you are more likely to get stopped if you have a red vehicle ... Dave and Betsy

As a resently retire fire captain I can tell you in the last few year more department have been going to white fire engines and getting away from the red color. So based on Betsy's theory, white must be faster.

Saw a truck not long ago called a Mack, had a chrome dog riding on the hood. Boy could that Mack fly!

Now for the real question. How many of you have louvered and what color is it, and of those that don't have one how many want one, and out of those left how many will admit to being envious of Robbie's Chrome?
