kitchen lazy susan
Fellow campers: My new Montana 3000RK has a 2 shelf lazy susan in the corner upper kitchen cabinet. We've only been out in it 3 times, but each time virtually everything that I put on those lazy susan shelves have fallen off and I have had to dig my supplies out from the deep corners.
Has anyone solved this problem? I sure hope so.

I have the 3400 and we had the lazy suzan in our lower cabinet under the sink. I modified it by removing and placing in the dumpster.

Carol is so right. Our last one ended up in the garage and back into the Monty for trade. Thankfully the new Monty didn't have one or the garage would be its fate.
Safe travels.

We moved ours and use it constantly.
3400 has only one level and we moved it to the other end of the island. It has all our cleaning supplies on it.
Happy trails.........................

we have the 297RK Mountaineer and have the same thing. I am a bit more particular about what i put on that lazy susan now, and must say i had not yet considered the "modification" of putting it in my garage . it does give me pause .... i guess i lowered the top shelf a bit and put bigger boxed items up there - pancake mix, potato flakes, hot choc mix. they dont tumble around as much. i avoid putting cans in there, but i do not like to put the cans in the smaller cupboards above the dining area either. i would love to hear some advice on this topic also.

We had the dealer put one in our 2955 and where it is it works quite well but it seems that on a lot of models it does not work at all

my DH minded me that I neglected to mention that I have the "luxury" of having a tall husband who can dig the fallen items out of the corners for his DW. i do like the idea of placing bags of larger snacks in that area. thanks!

If anybody is totally dissatisfied with their lazy susan, has removed it and still has it laying around, I would be interested in the top shelf assembly. We do use ours, but cannot find a top shelf for it. I can trade you a kitchen faucet for it if you want as soon as I get it replaced or am interested in purchasing the lazy susan. DW likes it but has been wanting the second shelf assembly.

Bingo, you may have trouble with putting a top shelf on the 3400 lazy susan. I think things would fall off of one on top. We don't have room for another shelf on ours. Also the under the cabinet ones are bigger around than the ones in the upper cabinets.

Sue,
It is the wierdest thing, when we first were looking at the 3400, DW said it had two shelves (I never noticed - man thing???). When we got ours it had one???? Even if I had to replace the whole assembly or just the top with a smaller one, I think DW would be happier. If there is a smaller one available, I may check with the dealer to see if it can be ordered, unless someone can come up with one they don't want. We don't travel with anything on them anyway, we just use them when we are parked. We have to remove all food, spices, etc. when we are in storage to try to keep the meeces from smelling anything to atract them inside. Guess I will have to measure under the sink to see if we have room. I guess if worse comes to worse, I may have to come up with an OZZ mod!!!!!

We use our all the time with only minor problems, DW went to Target/Walmartand got a bunch small white tray, about 3 to 4 per shelf, this keeps all those small light thing you carry in the kitchen where you want them. Definitly no heavey stuff. The tray's are about 4"x6" by 2" high.

We put spices, etc on it and then wrap it twice around with cling wrap for travel.

One of the first mods we did was to discard the lazy susan, and install shelves in it's place, similar to this solution. A much better option for Mrs. Happy Camper. I would have been more than happy to send it to bncinwv, but it got sold at a rummage sale last weekend. Sorry!

We also tried several times, but in the end, we found that it took up to many square inches. As a fulltimer, we cherish every single inch of living space, and that thing just had to go.

We use ours for soft items like bread and snacks and do not seem to have a problem. We certainly have more than enough other storage space available and have no desire to alter the cabinet. Of course, we do not full-time like some of you who may need much more storage.
