Apollo Oven
Has anyone actually had good use out of the Apollo oven, or should I just shopping now for a microwave replacement?
It is hard to tell sometimes - as I assume only the broken ones get reported out of thousands that must be out there. I realize it would be under warranty, but I hate dealing with broken stuff. As a part timer, time is too valuable to spend messing with it.

Brad we used ours all this past summer (April to October) and never had any problems. Thing of it is, we read the directons on how to operate it as there is some do's and don'ts. So far so good. We primarly use it as a micro wave. 1/2 time stuff we don't know how to cook with that method to be comfortable with it. Course I have to have instructions on how to boil water.

We've used ours for over a year now and have had no problems at all. Used it both as an oven and a microwave.

We have used ours for over a year(16 mths). Had one broken seal on the door which was quickley replaced with a phone call to Appollo. They overnighted the seal to me and was a quick easy job to pop into place. No charge to us. I use mine almost every day for both microwave and 1/2 time. Have never used our regular gas oven. We have lived in our unit 12 full months out of the 16 and used it on a practically a dailey basis. No complaints here.

Brad,
We used ours daily for 9 months and then off and on for the next year. Last summer we used it daily until the latch broke. Apollo sent a replacement. Maybe there was a batch of bad ones and we got Lucky! Maybe you will also. I think your thinking is correct about only the bad ones get reported.
Happy trails..............................

Brad, ours is only 4 months old, but we use it everyday. We use it more as a an oven than a microwave. Works great for baking/roasting just about anything. thus far no problems... Gas oven has become a storage area for things like onions, potatoes, and bread. It works well also, but the Apollo is so much better.

Thanks for the info folks!
We really rely on the microwave and it would be the pits to have it malfunction on a trip, especially when our old one never gave a lick of trouble. I'm eager to try the convection part though, so we'll give the Apollo the benefit of the doubt the first year.

We have used ours heavily for over 2 years, and it contiues to work fine, DW would not be without it now. Hope it keeps working, or we may go hungry.
Only problem we have had is that the latch sometimes gets out of positon and won't close. I think I have fixed that problem now.

I've used mine a lot too and like it just fine. The only thing is - and I was going to start a thread about this! - is the moisture buildup on the door. Do ya'll experience this as well? I have to wipe off the inside of the door practically after every use.

We took delivery of our 3400 May of 06. Used the Apollo without incident maybe 20 times during that time. It dropped dead last week on our trip SW.

Rich are you going to replace this with another? Just wondering if anyone knows of one that fits the space.

We have not had any of the problems others have had. The turntable does stop turning after about 12 minutes on microwave or convection modes, have not used the combo mode.

Isn't there a mode of operation for drying the oven?

Yes we get alot of moisture ...I press the dry button (cant think of what it says..lol ) but there is a button on the microwave that will dry most of it up. I sometimes still use a paper towel.
