When you use tiny pics the second line given has img for image included in the address. Copy and paste that one.
[img]url.........[/img}
Use the small bracket [ on the end instead of the } it is the only way I could get it to display.
Or you can take the link and put the "img" as shown above.

Another thing you can do is go into your profile and click on "Forum Codes. A pop up screen will explain a lot and if you scroll down to images it will show you what I am trying to say.

Hint on [s]tinypics[/s], MAKE THAT TINYPIC (thanks Sue for that correction!)
when you upload your photo, and once it says you have successfully done so
BEFORE you do ANYTHING else, snoop around on the page, and you will find a small little clickable note that says something to the affect:
EMAIL this link to yourself.
or, EMAIL this link (something or other)
click on the link, up will pop a small window where you can type in your email addy. Do, this, and email yourself the data. When you get the email it will contain data that looks something like this (I have edited these link addys, so, don't go there! )
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Link: http://tinypic.com/is.jpg
Tag: [img]http://tinypic.com/is.jpg"; alt="Image hosted by TinyPic.com]
Img: [IMG]http://tinypic.com/is {/IMG]
(the line above had been edited, you need a thingy like this "[" and a thingy like this "]" around the IMG and /IMG or it messes up!)
Url: http://tinypic.com/view/is
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
OKKK, now, when you have emailed yourself the link data, what I do, is WAIT till I have received it in my email box. I then save this email in a subdirectory with others I have. Then I always have it.
NEXT: I copy the line that starts with Img: you need to highlight the YA NEED ALL THAT FROM START TO FINISH
THEN: I paste that stuff into where ever it is that I am working and want the data.
OHH, I know it sound confusing, that is why I use that email thing, then I can always retrieve the IMG data and all that stuff, even days later. Sure beats trying to write down on a piece of paper all that "stuff".
Hope this helps.
Carol

First please be sure you are using tinypic not tinypics. Tinypics has a lot of child porno on it. I save the img string in a word document, then I can copy it from there. If you don't need it more than once, you can copy and paste directly into your profile but it is nice to have it saved somewhere else.
Happy trails........................

Make sure the picture of your unit on your computer is not 10MBs in size, tinypic probably wouldn't load a picture that size. your picture should be about 600 X 400 pixels or less (about that size).
My picture is 400 X 266 pixels

if you right click/properties on the Pix you will find that it is 640 x483. or your width is 483 and height is 640.
Right click on pix in other members signature to see their size. Mine is 183(height) and 400 (width)
Size it down and put the new photo back on tinypic and try again. 200 by 400 is a nice size.

Rob,
I assume you are putting the pix link in the signature block of the profile. I can't think of anything else.

Rob,
This is a wild shot. In your profile at the bottom right it states
"view Signatures in Post" Make sure yes is selected.

thanks for your help. I just wondered if anyone could tell me why in the profile it shows as an addy and not a picture. I do like to learn about these things, even if I do get frustrated. I am self taught on the computor and if you learn from your mistakes, I am a freaking genious or should be by now.

sorry that my one post came through so many times. I have it now, I know why it only shows as an addy. Thanks all for your help. I have been on other forums before and no one is as helpful as you all are here.
Oh, and this is Jo, as Rob would not beging to know how to figure this out....tehehe.
