New Bikerack needed I guess
Hi,
Our bike rack is not fitting due to the fiberglass endcap on our new 3123RL Leagacy.
I could squeeze it probably in so I can get the bolt in.
But then it would scratch and ruin the paint on the endcap.
Any one has an idea?
Otherwise any good recommendations for a new bike rack?
It should fit on bothe, the RV and the Truck, should not be too heavy and collapsing if possible. I do not like the one where the bikes are just hanging on.
I prefer the ones where the bike is on its platform.
Bike weight up to 35-40lbs.
Thanks

You could try a hitch extender. But it might cause more bounce.

Pull it out an inch past the existing hole and mark and drill another one.

I use this one, have put on 5,000 miles with it, works well plus gives you some vertical clearance for gas stations lots.

We've been using a 6 inch extension for years between Florida and Western NY. Needed to clear the ladder and handle bars from rear cap. I have a Quiet Hitch Clamp on both junctions and makes the rack solid.

I don’t have a fiberglass cap but I needed a little extra room for the handlebars to clear with my carrier (Swagman rv rated for e bikes) I use a 12” extension. The extension I bought is also tapped on the bottom for a 1/2” anti rattle bolt to help keep things extra snug. I tack welded a nut inside the male end of the extension so I could use a threaded bolt as a hitch pin there also.

I used this extension for our Swagman bike rack. In addition to extending the bike rack I gained some height for gas station entrances etc.

Thank You guys - you are the best
I thought an extension is a no no on the 5er but that’s the way I go for now.
Our next trip is easy down to FL where I can test it out.
Somewhere I should have old anti rattle clamps.
Thank You

We used an extender with our Hollywood rack all of the way on our Alaska trip with 2 e-bikes. No issue. I also bought a screw tightener from Amazon. So, both my extension and rack are screwed tight and lock. They don’t move.

I believe Swagman makes the proper bike rack for a 5th wheel. I bought a Swagman in 2009, which isn't the proper bike rack for a 5th wheel, but I haven't had a problem in 13 yrs with it. Went across the US and 6 trips to Arizona from Oregon and no problems. Have been on some pretty rough roads and bikes stayed on.

It's worth a visit to the web site... might not be what you are looking for, but this defiantly would work and give you room for more options. Click here.

Hi,
I am running the Küat Transfer V2 in the dedicated 2” hitch version and in the 2 bike configuration.
According to manufacturer this rack is Camper Trailer safe and "can be directly mounted on campers, recreational vehicles, or trailers with CHASSIS MOUNTED RECEIVERS ONLY".
https://www.kuat.com/product/transfer-v2/
I have added the Hitch extender as proposed from @BB_TX and it works great in combination with a hitch anti rattle clamp.
Thanks,
Mike
