Truck Boxes
How many of you have boxes in the bed of your trucks, and if you do what kind do you have. Flush with rails, full span. tailgate boxes, etc.

I have a full length Dolby plastic that is flush with the rails. I didn't get the nice shiny metal one cause i thought they were a bit on the heavy side. This one has 4 hinges accross the back & can be locked with a padlock on each side. It carries all i need. It can be mounted to the trk bed if u like. There r all kinds out there, just look around till u find what u want.

Mine is aluminum diamond plate that is painted black with a powder coat. It is about 18" deep. There are two plastic sliding trays and it gives me ample storage space. It is is bed rail level high. I did not want one any higher that would block my view of the hitch and king pin alignment when hooking up.

Rickety, we have a flush mount Kobalt chrome box that is nearly as wide as the truck bed. Got it for about $150 at Lowe's, mounted it with 4 screws and caulked it really well. It has pneumatic hinges, sliding trays, and a built-in key lock. We can store LOTS of stuff in it and can still put a cover over the truck bed, just haven't decided on what kind we want yet. That's on the To Do List before we go full-time next summer. Happy trails!

We have a Truck Trunk box which is about 15 years old. Fits across truck bed, rests on rails and has a sliding top. It was originally painted white, but has been coated with Rhino lining. It has a lock.

I looked at a full width rail mount box for upfront in the bed. It would have cleared the 5th wheel with no problems, just decided I did not want to spend the money.

We have the same box but ours is bright aluminum. Also got it a Lowe's. It has a sort of a lip across the front. I ran a ratchet type strap from the TV's cargo ring in the lower front corner up across the front lip and back down to the other ring. Tightened the ring and the box cannot move. Undo the ratchet and the box comes out. Not sure of the weight but it can't be more than 40 pounds. The cost is 248.00 but it's on sale for 226. Here's a link... http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?actio...000&lpage=none

We have a diamond plate Fifth wheel tool box that sits behind the hitch. It is of course lower in the center to allow for hitching. It has worked well for us.....Les

We have a Highways Products box that is 30 inches and is flush mount. We use it to put Sharon's mobility scooter in and it's out of sight and locked in. Don't remember what the cost was. It's diamond plate aluminum.

This is what the Truck Trunk looks like with the v-box. The front box has a top that slides both ways and the v-box opens all the way across. Bought it at Ballews in Tacoma, WA, they do a lot of hitch installs. http://trucktrunk.com/

That is one sharp looking setup you have there. Even if it is in a Dodge... =)

Up front have a diamond plate, below the rails box from CampingWorld and a VeeBox in the back for the tools and stuff maybe needed while the 5W is hitched up. This is the second truck for the boxes and they still look good.
