hard water spots
What do you guys use to get rid of hard water spots? The windows are so bad I have been using a lite rubbing compound to get them clean. Not sure what to use on the rig, tried water and vinegar but did not work the lite rubbing compound also did not work. Tanks

bsdf200 - welcome to the forum and great first question. I am interested in following this thread.
It would help get better targeted answers if you could share your RV year and model.

Meguires makes a water spot remover spray that works well. Generally, you can also use a mixture of clean water and vinegar to remove hard water spots.

Hard water spots from wash water definitely are unsightly and seem that they are at their worse on the tinted windows of our rigs. I have good luck using a drying mop attachment on my wash handle. Shammy the rig off with the mop before the rinse water dries. I have found this works better than blow drying with the leaf blower. I have been using Shurhold products for years on the boat and now Monty has it’s own telescoping handle, soft brush and drying mop. I use the “Soft and Thirsty”. If you have already dried water spots, a 50/50 mix of water and white vinegar has worked well for me on the boat hull before waxing but I have not used it on the camper. The vinegar and water will remove wax though on waxed surfaces.

Mr. Clean magic erasers work for cleaning water spotting from shower doors, might work for windows too. They also make the underside of awnings white again.

I've given this suggestion many times on this and other forums for hard water spots on your camper, glass and body, use Automatic Dishwashing liquid. Make a somewhat strong solution with water and sponge it on, let it sit a few minutes, sponge on some more, and then wipe if off. You may have to repeat a couple times to get it all of, if it's really, really hard.
Folks who have tried this have reported back it was successful. It also works on your glass shower stalls in the camper and at home.
If you want, use a solution of Automatic Dishwasher RINSE to go over it once removed. This will also remove any remaining residue.
Now think about this? If Automatic Dishwasher liquid is designed to take of hard water spots from glasses inside your dishwasher, why wouldn't it do the same thing on any glass or any surface, anywhere?
After you have wiped (do not scrub) off the spots, do a good rinse with clean water and dry the surface. Spots are gone! Works great! And.... really ... no scrubbing. Just let the liquid do what it does ... clean!

I've used this product and works great on glass. Even years of deposits.

Blue Beacon Truck Wash absolutely demolished my rig with whatever the heck they rinsed with. Thanks for all the tips!

Do not use magic eraser! It is an abrasive and will strip the shine off of your rig.
