Rich & Helen,
I'm so happy for you both!! Glad everything went well. Helen - you go girl!! Show em how it's done! When we purchased ours, the people at Northgate RV in Ringgold GA really were good to us. Thinking back on it, we knew NOTHING, we didn't know what to look for or anything concerning a PDI or a Pre PDI. We just fell in love with the 3000RK instantly. They showed us every little nook & crannie, operated everything, explained everything, told us so much info. Alot of little tricks they knew about, etc...They got us off to a great start and we realize now how great they really were after being part of the MOC for the last few months! Anyway, this is your day!! Enjoy your new rig!! We Want Pictures!!

Helen has always driven the campers.. Truth be known I do not care to drive all that much.. A good , honest dealer is 90% of getting a trouble free camper..IMHO.

Rich, I feel so special, I've been quoted!! Northgate RV is so fantastic. Their motto is "You're going to love this place!" It so fits them. I know Dan wants me to drive, but I just plain don't want to. Probably could, but... Now I can drive the truck with no problem, but I've never pulled anything. He has always pulled flatbed trailers, equipment, boats, etc...so for him it's just getting used the "BIG" behind him!!

You are out camping,Hubby gets sick or hurts himself and can not drive..how do you get the camper home. Pulling the fifth wheel is no big deal..a few hours of practice and it will fell like you are driving a Ford Escort. We are still working on learning about this camper but with our last TT Helen did not need me at all.She could hook it up, drive it away, park it at the campground, unhook, level, hook up all the utilities and get me a cold beer without breaking a sweat. You can do it..execpt maybe for the cold beer????

Congrats to Rich and Helen. I would loved to have seen Rich's face when Helen got to pull it around before him. Ha.
Ok who is next? We got to have somebody else to pull through this ordeal. We have the Blue Hose, Red Key and flashlight issue under control so now it is time to move on to bigger and better things.
If Keystone keeps putting out this units in top rated condition our job is going to get tougher in picking it about. Next thing you know the PDI will be something we use to do.

Rich & Helen Congrats on the new Montana,I wish you the best of luck with your new Montana and I hope you both have many years of enjoyment with your new Fiver. I am on the road with mine and a new notebook and a WiFi campground is why I can congratulate you. I have towed mine 1200 miles in all kinds of conditions and I am very happy with everything so far touch wood. The V10 Torqueshift is an awesome combo and in Tow Haul I pull higher revs down hill on 8%grades then I do going up hill but I never have to touch the brakes going down hill. I can get a speeding ticket on every grade I have hit. I am not doing as`well as you for mileage but I have no complaints. I weigh just under 21000 pounds, am 13 feet high and winds and grades don't fizz me and I am getting about 7.5.
My 88 460 did 6 with 7000 pounds less weigh and most of the diesel guys I talk to only get 10 with a set up like mine.
I can not believe how well my Monty pulls and brakes with the Ford built in brake control and this truck rides and steers like a Lincoln with the trailer on tow. Empty the ride is `rough and the steering wanders nore.
The Monty has`been flawless and we have had below freezing weather up here in northern Alberta. It is like summer now.
Take care and I know you are going to love that Montana. Don

Wrench traveller..My MPG numbers were with a completely empty 3400 We ran it on the scales at the landscaping company and they are just scales to weigh how much stone you just bought..we weighed in at 11,850lbs..completely empty execpt for two tanks of propane.the truck was 7,350lbs.That's 19,200 and we expect to get 1.2/1.5 K of stuff on board so our MPG will be about the same as yours.. That Mor-ryde hitch pin is awsome as is the mor-ryde suspension..The V-10 will serve us well till we do the milage that warrants a diesel.

ok guys (generic for all) I am expecting delivery of my 3400RL late in May 06 and I have benefited much from these forum discussions. I have learned a lot about weights and towing issues but have not yet had any luck on obtaining the PDI list that rich, helen and others are talking about. I have racked my brain on the search topics but to no avail. I know I am not computer literate but have done search functions before. Any HELP on a PDI list would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Ron, some of those PDIs may seem like a lot, but if you read through them with a notepad beside you and jot down the info that you would think to be relevant to what you wanted your own personal PDI to look like, I believe you would be a lot more confident leaving a dealership with your new Monty.
Just make sure your plumbing is all tightened up before you leave and check your rechargeable light - they don't work on the new units coming out of the factory (bad batch). Also, the shower drain is a problem - it will leak. Have them put in a new gasket before it leaves the dealership. Make sure your tanks don't leak and make sure the black tank actually dumps. That's just off the top of my head without looking at at anything that I have written down somewhere. Of course you're familiar with the "blue coiled hose" situation...
Anything else that I missed, guys, that is NOT on these PDIs?
