IS weight gain!
I wanted our rig loaded like we'd travel when we got to MORryde for our IS install. We were right at our trailers 16,350 weight rating (weighed enroute). On the way back we weighed again and were 500 lbs overweight! I beleive we had about 30 gallons of waste/gray water so it appears the IS added 350-400 lbs. However, time to put the rig on a diet...
Is this about the "weight gain" others have seen with 7k IS system?
Yes, we're liking the IS a lot. Driving over the railroad tracks on the way in and then on the way out must be part of the MORryde marketing plan

Never checked mine, but I wouldn't get all upset about it. You didn't add weight to the trailer, it's under the trailer.

Not at all upset, just curious to pin down the added weight number. Since I had some water onboard when I weighed on the way up and added a bit more at our CG before Elkhart, I can't really pin down the weight gain.
I do plan to get us under the trailer GVWR for safety, we cart around too much stuff anyway.

The weight added sounds about right. Did you add spacers to raise the trailer so sit would be level while towing? That will add another 200 lbs. We added the 8K IS system and raised the rig frame 2 inches which added about 850 lbs to the trailer weight. The overall height actually was lowered by 1" as the rear of the trailer was raised not the front.
ON the scales, the weight gain will show up that way, however its all under the frame so in theory your CCC numbers will not change. The rating are based on the weakest links of your tires and or suspension or barring that... frame design. By adding weight from the IS you should consider the load ratings of your tires as they are likely the weak link now. G rated tires run around 4000 lbs at 110 PSI that should be sufficient, but it will not hurt to go up to H rated tires but then you might have to get new rims as these tires are 17.5 inches vs 16 inches for the G rated tires of the same approximate tire diameter. FWIW

I saw a bunch of 8k units during the tour - they seem much beefier than the 7k units. Photo of ours installed attached and a photo of 8k units (I think) on the warehouse floor.

The GVWR is the max the trailer can weigh. The CCC will be reduced by the difference between the IS and the original suspension.

We had a 600lb weight gain with our 7k IS and disk brakes. They did mention that they leveled our rig during the install. Fortunately for us we are still just under our GVWR. Love the IS and really love the disk brakes.

We had OEM disc brakes that were Kodiak so Morryde just reinstalled them on our IS. We also got leveled a bit which took us from 13'5" to 13'6" (not real happy about that).
We did change to Timken bearings while there and also the Morryde pin box.
