GM All,
I wanted to pass along some information that I just became aware of. For those of you that use Verizon's HotSpot service. Please Read on.
I had a late start this year setting up camp. One of the last things that I do is ensure that they rigs WiFi network is up and running to support our camera/security system and all of my other gadgets that I have set up.
My VZ hotspot stays plugged in 24/7 during the season. Well when I fired the Jetpack over this year it began to exhibit some odd behavior. Without going into all the details, the Jetpack will not charge while turned on and plugged in. The only way that it will charge is if it is turned off. Well that means the Jetpack will not work for what I want it to do. Stay plugged in and working 24/7.
So after a quick GOOGLE of the problem, I come to find out that as of April 9th 2021 Verizon along with the Consumer Product Safety Council have recalled the devices.
I have provided links below with official information on how to go about getting a replacement. THESE DEVICES ARE A FIRE/BURN hazard.
For me the official replacement process was not acceptable. In order to get VZ to take any action on replacing my device much sooner without a financial hit to the wallet. I literally had to deal with about 20 hours of phone calls.
The Jetpack name is Ellipsis and looks like this. The link to more info from VZ is.
