Ice maker stopped working
Hi fam! We just got a new 2021 Montana high country and it has the GE residential 18 cub inch fridge with the freezer on the bottom..it was making ice just fine and now it won't make any at all..we do turn the water off when not there but we run water through the water dispenser when we return..my husband did turn the inverter off because we are on shore power and the fridge is working fine, but the ice maker just quit making ice..anyone have similar issues? TIA!!

There is a little arm on the ice maker that shuts it down when ice is full. This arm can lock in the off position. I had that issue before when I turned the switch off my arm must have pushed the icemaker arm to off position.

What is considered the on position? With it being plastic, I don't want to be overly forceful and break it.
Thank you RipNC for your support!

Not at the rig, I believe it just flips downward, if I recall.

PS - I'm sure you already know this (because that is how the arm gets clicked off by accident) - when you shutoff the water you should turn off the switch on the ice maker.

Mine just started doing the same under the same circumstances. Mine was a little over a year old and the water filter cartridge needed replacing, however, it is still not working. The flapper moves backwards and forwards, when you shut the freezer door, it moves it backward to start making ice again. If you figure yours out, let me know.

The on/off switch is a slide to the left of the paddle. I took a sharpie and colored the words to help see it. Turn ice make off for 15 seconds, then on. Press ice bin paddle three times within 15 seconds. It should cycle and dump ice.

If it’s a GE refrigerator you must have a working filter or a filter bypass plug. The reset assumes you have water flowing.

We have the GE residential in our 2021, and recently it stopped making ice. After the usual checks (water, filter, ice maker paddle in correct position, etc.) I pulled the freezer drawer and ice maker out to further investigate. The cause was a frozen feed tube, located inside the back wall of the freezer. This tube dumps the water into the ice maker itself, and can become frozen for various reasons according to GE (low water pressure, etc.).
At that point it was a matter of using a hair dryer and patience to melt the blockage out. The re-assemble the whole thing and wait for ice (success).
