Tent for additional room
For our next extended trip, I'm thinking about bringing along some light gear for personal fitness. I've thought about investing in some kind of tent as an extra room where we can just keep the gear set up. I would want air flow, but also weather protection, so it seems to me a camping tent (as opposed to an open canopy, for example) is what I should look for. Maybe 8-10 feet square/diameter.
How much room there will be at the site is an unknown. Also, I suppose I'd be smart to call ahead and verify we would be allowed to set up a tent at our site.
Aside from those kinds of logistics, do you have recommendations as to a style or brand of tent I should consider? Other considerations?

If using exercise equipment, you also need to consider the height of the tent. A lot of exercise equipment requires the hands above the head. Unless it's an exceptional tent, most are so short, you can't even stand up straight in them.

Deanna-- that is fine but make sure you can set one up at your campgrounds you visit. Many will not let you set tents up on your sites!

My exercise routing is quite simple. I can perform 12 ounce curls inside or outside weather permitting.

We sat under one of these for several rainy days on our recent beach trip.
It was surprisingly rain proof even without the separate wall panels.
The mesh is so tight the rain simply ran down the walls to the ground.
We liked it so well, I'm ordering one for ourselves asap.
They have two sizes and colors and offer separate wall panels for each.

That is a fact, because many campgrounds also rent tent sites in addition to RV and cabin sites.

Not sure who makes it but these are pretty common here in the PNW. As for being allowed....
As long as you're not trying to sneak extra people in the campground without paying it shouldn't be a problem. If it is just move on. There are too many accommodating campground owners out there.

A lot of Campgrounds these days have fitness centers so you might not need to bring anything. I have a friend that is living on a boat (Not the same but close) and he uses resistance bands and is doing very well with them.

DCB, Not sure about the tent situation, but I used to carry free weights in my RV, but decided hauling all that extra weight around was not a good idea, so I bought one of these, and you can do so many exercises with this thing, and it tucks into a box around 3" x 9" x 24", and only weighs about 5-8 pounds total. Check it out. Here is the link: https://www.gorillabow.com/

DCB, sorry I missed this initially. We carry Clam enclosures. We have a 6' enclosure and a 12'? one. Tall and roomy. They have mesh walls that are extremely effective against no see ums (why we bought the Clam). You can buy wind/sun/rain screens to go over the mesh sides. They work well for us. They are made very well and really hold up in all kinds of weather. We bought both sizes due to some of the limitations mentioned earlier. The 12 footer is pretty big and you need a fair sized site for it not to get in others way. The 6' is great in smaller spaces but doesn't give near the room. The large one is big enough for a picnic table, benches some tables etc. The smaller one is a bit small but big enough to allow DW to do crafts and such outside.

I use EZUP 10x10’ with a pyramid top. The fourth side has a zipper door. It going to stop a thief but it cuts the wind. Not hard to,put up.

Alternate thought. How about the outdoor room you attach to your awning ?

My 2 cents worth - Many campgrounds do not allow pop ups, tents or any other type of enclosure on the site. Best as above mentioned, call the proposed campground, get a real answer from them yes or no. If you dont like the answer find another campground. If you can live with some yes some no, i say go for it. But, there is always (as also mentioned above) types of workout systems that virtually take up not much if any room inside and RV and can be used for workout. Still, it is up to to the person (RVer) and what they want.
