Awning won't work
Just got home from our latest adventure. While cleaning up the rig, I tried to run out the awning on the dining/living room slide and it is dead. It rolled up fine when we left the last spot, but now apparently no power to that particular awning. The large one works fine. I checked the fuses and they seem fine. Where do I go next? Thanks for the suggestions.

Check the switch. See if power is going in and then out. Then check the motor.

Ditto, pull out the switch and check for loose of disconnected wires. Had it happen to us, one of the fast-on connectors was never fully seated and vibrated off.

Switch? Where is the switch if the awnings are operated by the inCommand screen?

It is in the BCM on the in command. Should be in your basement area.
Here is a trouble shooting guide.

Checked the switch with a volt meter. seemed to be power there. Not sure how to access the motor when it is rolled up. I'll take another look when I have some time. thanks all for your responses.

Is there a way to unroll the awning without power? to access the wiring at the motor, it would seem to have to be unrolled. The owners manual shows how to install, but not how to unroll it powerless.

Here is an option for checking for power at the motor and if the motor works. Hopefully it applies to your awning.
With the aid of a tall step ladder, you can reach the motor power connection on the top of the right awning arm. Unplugging this will allow you to apply 12vdc and ground directly to the motor to see how the motor responds to power directly from another source. On a neighbors class a, we found that his issue was not the motor, but a power connection that was corroded. Reversing order of the two wires reverses in and out.mine has worked flawlessly for almost five years of fulltiming so far...knock on fiberglass.

Thanks Carl. When it cools off a bit, I'll give that a go. Long time since we've talked. Have you been through Mount Shasta lately?

I actually passed by a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately I couldn't stop as we were beat-feeting home to get a black tank fixed.

I've had an inCommand system since the first year and have had only one problem that was easily fixed. I suggest you call the inCommand Customer Service folks and they will give you good advice. Turns out there were a couple of extra relays in my control board (undercover in the basement) that can be switched out if one fails. I suggest you are ready to access the relay control board when you call them so you can visualize the components as they instruct you. Their CS is excellent, call 877-845-8750. Best of luck.

The same thing just happened to us, but the large awning wouldn't come back in and the smaller one did.
You could hear the motor running, but nothing was happening. Had to manually roll the awning up and zip tied it until the new motor comes in. What a pain!!!

Well, I finally got a chance to get out and work on the awning in the cooler morning. I got the tall ladder and looked down past the motor and grabbed the wires to see if they would pull up easy. Well, they did. They had become unconnected. I used a battery and hooked to the plug and ran the awning out far enough to see what had happened. I plugged the motor back into the wire and everything is working fine again. Pretty easy fix in this case.
Thanks to all those who gave me information on how to fix my minor problem. Especially thanks to Carl & Susan who are always there when you need them.
