water pump
looking for a Shurflo 2005 year 5900-0211 extreme series 5.7 water pump. The micro switch went out after being moved to the new campers I have have bought in the last 15 years. I`ve tried the new ones and they just don`t compare to the pressure and water flow at any volume. They don`t sell the micro switch for this model any more. If you have one to get rid of or have parts Let me know. I need to start including pictures on my posts for some people. So here it is,

When doing searches for this pump, I think it is a dinosaur in the water pump world. There were also quite a few old discussions about early failures with these pumps. I did find a high volume pump that might be an acceptable replacement for the Shurflo: https://www.campingworld.com/aquajet...ps-accessories

hit the nail
Yes this model did have issues with the bracket that held the micro switch busting lose under the high pressure and mine finally gave up. I tried Super Glue but it wouldn`t hold it together under pressure.
I bought the pump you recommended off Amazon 2 weeks ago and tried it last week end on a short trip to Va. The pressure at full flow is like home as the other pump was but when at low flow like brushing your teeth it pulsates like a cheap pump as it is not a true variable speed like the Flowjet. And it sounds like a jet engine on start up till it builds pressure for the for full flow. This is a wife complaint when she`s trying to take a nap as the pump is right under her head in the basement in the 3791RD. I will use this pump for now until I find a old broken pump for parts. Thanks for trying to help Rod.
To lend credibility to the post I have included a picture of the REMCO pump I bought before I installed it.

You might get one of those pressure tank things(?) that attach to the pump. It evens out the pressure drop, I guess and allows the pump to run less often. Sounds like a good idea to me, but I have never tried it.

By chance, what it the pressure/GPM of the standard pumps Keystone uses?

This is a good idea. I have an old 5 gallon balder pressure tank from an Reverse Osmosis system I can use for the test. I`ll try this tomorrow and report findings with pictures!!

We use the Shurflo 4048, along with a sound reducing hose kit, which makes this a very bearable pump for sound. On the Shurflo site, they indicate that this is the pump that replaced the Shurflo 5900. The specs indicate it will put out 4.0 gallons per minute and it is also a bypass pump, so that should reduce or eliminate surging when faucets are only cracked open. We never have an issue with water flow and never have any surging issues with this pump. Wide open, 4 gallons per minute in an RV is a lot of water, especially if you are dry camping, but even in a full hookup site,, we just don't have a need for any more water than this will produce in a non water site. Also, if the need came up, repair parts are available, as this is a current model.

hit the nail
This to funny, more research and found a company over in China that had a pallet load of these pumps and was selling them for 100.00 and 45 dollars shipping. I paid 250.00 in 2005 for mine. Sent them money Pay Pal and this pump showed up in 3 days from China go figure. It`s 24 volt but has a 12 to 24 volt converter on it already, see pic, it also has the updated micro switch yep, wife is back to a happy camper, and we all know what that means. thanks for the interest. I`ll see what breaks next week.

I`ve finally had time to install this and it whisper quit and will drain Lake Erie. Like I said wife approved. I did add an after market 12 to 24 volt converter. On Ebay not to much and improves the response on demand. Starts off at a very low RPM and builds speed as necessary.
