New Montana casters making dents in floor
Does anyone else have this problem? New 2019 3931FB purchased in Feb. About 4 to 5 weeks ago I started noticing a small dent in the bedroom area. After several weeks it continued to get progressively worse. I finally figured out it's the casters on the bedroom slide causing the problem. Both casters are making dents/holes in the floor.
Has anyone else had this problem? What did you do to fix the problem. Since this is a new unit (still under warranty) will Keystone be a stand up Co. and correct this? Thanks

If you have a good dealer take it to them. Then despite what they tell you, check with Keystone customer service and make sure a file was opened. If you don't have a good dealer call Keystone Customer Service and ask them to recommend a dealer.

I dropped it off today at the dealer. They told me Keystone will most like say it is “as designed” and will refuse to correct the problem.

Call Keystone customer service and get a file started on it. don't let the dealer blow you off because they will.

Do as BuilderBob states and call Keystone Customer Service and let them know what is happening and also get that file started on the problem. Be sure to have your model and VIN #'s when you call for easier communication with the Rep. The dealer has no excuse for not taking care of the problem of you call Customer Service first also. If he puts you off just give him the file number you will get from the Customer Service Rep. Be civil with the Customer Service Rep and they will help more than if you go into the phone call with a bad attitude. It sounds like the slide is out of adjustment but it could be several different problems to cause this situation.

After I read this thread I look to see if mine were like that and low and behold YES I have the same issue. 2019 3120 Montana. It appears the little casters are to small for the bed and to much pressure on the spongy vinel floor. That type of floor has a layer of foam under it. Maybe sliders will help. They do sell slider for slidouts for the porpose that some slidouts scape the floor!

Thanks for everyone's feedback. I took your advice and called Keystone. They told me I could take it to any authorized dealer. I have it at one 5 miles away rather than 30 (where I purchased). BTW I have a problem with bathroom sliding door. The door handle on the bathroom side (when closed) is concealed be the wall. So, you can't grab a handle to open the door. I reported this to the dealer. The dealer told me Keystone said it was "as designed" and would not repair it. Low and hold Keystone told me the dealer reported the door handle fell off and they repaired it. Talk about misrepresent the facts! Anyway I'm hoping to also have this corrected.

My kitchen slide was dragging the floor. I was advised by CW tech to get sliders. I bought white vinyl baseboard 4'x4" and cut them to size.

If keystone wont fix it I would add more (and larger) rollers to spread out the weight. Also make sure not to store anything heavy on the bed.

Doesn't sound good. Was the Dealer reimbursed by Keystone for the 'warranty' work they didn't do? If so, that's called fraud where I come from. The RV industry needs to weed out the scoundrels that give it a bad name. I expect no one is more bothered by these types of incidents than the ethical, honest RV Dealers.

I have no idea if they got paid. My guess is they did. I'm sure they were happy to see me leave. Let's face it... if they run me off, they can charge someone else $199/hr (posted on the wall of their office) for labor when Keystone will pay them less to do warranty work.

The DW wanted more freezer space rather than a washer/dryer.

Repairs made
Even though this is an old thread, I thought I should let you know the outcome. It took until last week to get the repairs made. As I mentioned, I took the RV from the original dealer after learning they made false statement to Keystone. I took it to United RV in Ft. Worth. Between me and United we were able to get Keystone to repair the floor. No more dents.

I had mine fixed at the dealer that sold the unite and they ended up installing a 6 inch long roller on the front of the bed slide, that will take some of the weight off of the front of the bed. I might say that we had only a blanket and a 4 ft. level in the storage of the bed slide and it did the same as the very first question. It is the end of the camping season for us in northern Ohio, so time will tell. This was Keystones fix, and it may be an improvement? I think they are getting more complaints as time goes on! I think it is a good design, but they need longer rollers to distribute the weight!

Mine was digging into the carpet, so I BEEFED up the bed frame and installed wide rollers from an old bed frame I had that had the rollers on it.

I have the indents on the bedroom floor. If I go camping the indents go away after a couple of days. I hope that they continue to "spring" back to level.
My rig is a 2019 3120.
