Gettysburg, PA campsite referral please
I have researched the 4 campgrounds closest to Gettysburg and, it appears, new owners have taken over all 4 and are letting them deteriorate significantly. Reviews on the websites, posted this year, sound awful.
Has anyone been to a nice campground within driving distance of the battlefields, within the last few months?
Any information will help us have a nice trip.
Thanks, Larry

It has been three years, but we thought the KOA was nice.

We stayed there at the end of May and it was very nice. Great location and fairly easy to access.

We have stayed at two of the campgrounds there and like the KOA the best.

We stayed at the Artillery Ridge Campground a couple of years ago, we were happy there. Three 5th wheels in our group. Close to the Battle Fields.

The Artillery Ridge Campground is absolutely the best location for the battlefield, it is also a good campground as it is very close to the museum and is actually on the original battlefield, reasonable rates and very friendly folks at check in. We have stayed there three times.

Just get a site in the main part of the campground. Horse area sites have water supply issues.

Drummer Boy is hands down the best in Gettysburg. We have stayed there several times and have not been disappointed.

We live 30 miles from Gettysburg and have stayed at most of the campgrounds more than once. We live on 5 acers at home and prefer large campsites without your neighbor being right in you face. For us the choice is granite hill campground. Specifically sites Z1-Z10. Only 30 amps and no sewer, but that's fine for us. There is enough room behind these sites to have a football game, or whatever.

Live not to far from the battlefield and have been there many times. Take the guided tour bus for the most information. God I can`t imagine what those guys went through and survived, and I`m a VN combat vet. We have stayed at all of the camps except the KOA, yes the others have gone down hill. Granite Hill has no cable service now the the new girl said "your camping what do you need cable for". KOA is the best and has cable the but not the easiest to maneuver in if you have a big unit.
