Ram 3500 SRW Diesel
We are looking at the Montana HC 321MK, 11,075lbs. I'm brand new so take it easy on me, I'm old and can go at any minute........
Just wondering about the truck hauling this 5th wheel, thanks in advance for your comments/suggestions and advice....

Check the yellow sticker in the door jam for your payload. That rig has a #2160 pin weight out of the gate, and with a GVW of approx #14k, you should be good to go. I'd just check the yellow sticker for your payload capacity, but I'm thinking it's good

You can enter your VIN at Ramtrucks.com and find out exact payload and towing capabilities. Got to Ram trucks .com, click towing and capability, click Look up my vehicle, enter VIN and there's your info.

Welcome to the forum! I would bet you'll find you're fine, but I learned the hard way that Ram will spec some of their SRW trucks higher than you can buy tires to handle that weight.

You sound like a neighbor and customer.
My neighbor said You aren’t guaranteed another minute.
The customer said I’ve got to pay you as soon as it comes you can’t never tell when I might check out.
I said welcome and glad to have you here.

I have a similar setup. If you care about being legal, the weight ratings of each unit will give you your answer. In my case the truck weighs 8300 lbs. The gvwr is 12300 lbs. that provides for 4000 lbs of load available to place on the truck.
You will need to know the truck weight and the pin weight of your loaded trailer to know for sure. Otherwise, I'm fairly certain you would be OK.

Thanks, that's what I want to hear........So the Single Rear Wheel will do......................................Also, can you pull it with a regular truck bed of 6.5' or do you want the long bed at 8'..................................

You can use a short bed. you mite need a sliding hitch. most of us have the long box give you way more both for towing and for carrying stuff in the bed.

I always go with the long bed so I never have to worry abought tight turning and it will ride smoother, less chucking and such. Mine floats on air, but it is a little long in some parking lots! I added firestone air bags and it is a 4x4, saw, 4door, longbed and I love all the extra room. Enjoy

Yea, the long bed makes a lot of sense....was just wondering if you could in fact pull the 5'ver with a short bed (6.5') Is anyone out there pulling a 35 footer with a short bed? thanks

There are quiet a few people pulling with short bed trucks. Slider hitches are your friend with a short bed truck, although not everyone uses them.

Thanks for that...so, to be clear, you can pull with a 6.5' bed but as I understand, you cannot turn too sharply. I'll have to check out more stuff on you tube. .............................thanks everyone for your comments.......................................... ...............Diesel

I am. I have a non-sliding B&W hitch with the puck system. It allows for setting the hitch head rearward which allows for more clearance between the truck and camper. I can do a 90 degree turn on level ground but every truck/trailer combination is different. It gets close but I've never had to turn that sharply yet. I wouldn't change anything about my setup even if they gave it to me.
