Feb 2019? There is a Koa about 1-2 miles form AT&T arena where the Spurs play. Have stayed there about 4 yrs. ago but had low voltage and lost an A/C. Have not been back since, but I'm sure they most likely fixed the problem by now. Many others within 30-40 miles. Bandera, Kerrville.

San Antonio
We always stay at the KOA. Stayed there as a kid for the World Fair (Hemispere 68). We may have stayed there maybe 30 times over the past 40 years during vacations and weekends. We have never had any issues with the electrical system. There was a big flood in October ‘98 and the whole property was 5’ deep. They started rebuilding and have really spent some $$ over the past 4 years or so.
Travelers World is also nice but small and will most likely be filled with snowbirds now. We have driven by and it nice.
In Houston there is a chain of parks owned by Quality RV Resorts and they are all great places. Same corporation built Green Lake recently southeast off I35. It is new and most likely very nice...but if you want to beat the streets and explore SA - the KOA location is central, very easy to get into downtown or anywhere else.
Back when we had kids and were going to Seaworld and 6-flags fiesta - Admiralry RV Resort is out on the west side of town and we had friends that always stayed there and it looks nice.
SA has its moments and spots for bad traffic but for whatever reason it never seems as bad and suffocating as Austin, DFW or Houston. I have to go down there for my job from time to time and no matter if it is for business or pleasure I have never had a bad day in SA.

We have stayed at Admiralty RV Resort in SA a few times while I had to work down there. It's a very nice park.

We just left Braunig Lake RV Resort on the south side of SA after a two month stay. Just off I37 with easy access yet no interstate noise. Approximately $600 per month including 50 amp FH, cable and decent wifi. During non-rush hour can get to down town or BAMC in 15 minutes, north side SA or Lackland AFB in 30 minutes.

We stayed at Travelers World and definitely would again. On a main street that runs straight downtown to the Riverwalk area, Alamo, Mercado, etc. Bus stop right in front to take you downtown if you would rather not drive. But we found parking near there no problem. But as mentioned above, it is popular with snowbirds. They do have very high water pressure and you will need (or they will sell you) a water pressure regulator. And you do not want to take E Southcross Blvd from I-37 to get there (bad rail crossing).

We are staying at Travelers World RV in San Antonio. It's a really nice RV Park with a great location to all the sites. This year the sites were $600 plus metered electric. My highest bill so for was $34. They are expecting to raise the months rent for next year to maybe 625 to 650. They have a small heated pool a hot tub and activities each month. The bus to downtown or to the missions is right across the street from the park entrance. We will be leaving April 1st but have already made our reservations for next year.
If you are a senior you can get a bus pass for discount bus fares with free rides on weekends.

We recently stayed at a corps of engineers campground on Canyon Lake. It is an hour drive to SA but was a great place.

Had a great time at the KOA near AA&T last spring. Great people and all amenities were great and everything working. Great for pups and kids as well.

Yikes! This post sure showed up late for Feb 2019. Where you stay will depend on what you want to do while there. If you are going to Sea World or other attractions on the west side of town, check out Admiralty RV Resort. It has good highway access, is close to fuel and groceries and close to public transportation if you want to use that to go into town (Alamo, River Walk, etc.).

The campground looks great but have read other reviews that it is in a very sketchy part of town. Was this a concern for you?

E Rod- any issues with the surrounding area? I have read the neighborhood outside park is somewhat sketchy. Your thoughts?
