Carlsbad NM
Hello folks
Looks like I may well be making a job move to Carlsbad NM. I am sure everyone there hates the influx of oilfield workers but it is what it is
Any reviews of campgrounds appreciated. Are any worth staying at?
My son lives there and most likely stay with him for first couple months. Thinking about buying a lot or lot with house that could be torn down. Then perhaps build. We own our country estate in Arkansas and won’t be selling that

Take a look at The Ranch in Lakewood, NM. It's just north of Carlsbad. It's a COOP so lots can be purchased or rented. If your going to be out there a while purchasing is much cheaper. RO water, good electric and decent WIFI. Other oil workers both rent and own there. There is also a KOA north of Carlsbad and a number of cleared land type RV parks for oil workers near Carlsbad.

We stayed at the Carlsbad KOA several years ago and it was very nice. But about 20 miles or so north of Carlsbad. But no other RV park in the area had decent reviews at the time. And sometimes if the wind was right you could catch a sniff of the oil fields. The smell of money as they might say.

COOP is an abreviation for Cooperative. It's 18 miles to Carlsbad and 16 miles to Artesia.
