Landing Gear Blows Fuse under load.
I have a 2008 3075 RL and it has recently started blowing the 30amp fuse when extending the landing gear under load. I checked the mechanism, tighten the bolts, screw, etc. Nothing looks out of order. Anyone have any thoughts or similar problems? Thanks, xgboy.

My first thought is lubrication. Have you checked the gears for grease?
There are a lot of post on "landing legs" I suggest you search those words and remember to search archives too.

Take a level and check the legs. I had the same problem because I had a leg that was inclined to the inside, and as a result the resultant binding when the leg moved up and down would blow the fuse. Unfortunately for me, it also chewed up the gearing, and I had to replace the whole leg, instead of just straighting the leg.

There are also posts about replacing the fuse assembly with an auto-reset breaker. A search will likewise yield the details for the installation. Ironically, there have also been posts in the past where some rigs came with 30 amp fuses and others with 40 amp fuses in the exact same configuration. It is not recommended to install higher rated fuses normally, but if you do not go with the auto-reset breaker, it may merit further investigation and consideration. Use of the search function while enabling archive searching will yield some results, I do remember it was an issue on the 2007 models (our old rig).

I have a 2008 Montana 3585SA that has been stationary since new. I just bought a new truck and we want to become mobile now that we are retired. We are currently moving to a waterfront seasonal site. Preparing for the move, I checked the landing gear and rear stabilizers and they worked fine. We then hooked to the hitch in my truck, lifted gear and moved to the new spot. Went to drop the landing gear and "no" response. Checked rear stabilizers, they don't work either. All research points to a fuse, but nothing I can find tells me where this fuse is. I think my honey raised the jacks too much. I've checked the panel in the RV and also all around the front storage area where battery, landing gear and hydraulics are without any luck. I found an inline 15a fuse, but that is good. Anyone have any more info or pictures? Also, is there any way to manually extend landing gear via turning square shaft in storage between motors or otherwise?
Thanx in advance - Dean

Deanrd: The older rigs used a 30 (or sometime 40) amp fuse inline to the landing gear motor. A Search for "30 amp fuse landing" should uncover posts on this puppy. The best one I found was one from the Archives. Archived posts have lost most of the formatting and all the pictures. But a post by dsprik about 2/3 down is the one you want. The earlier post help explain the cause. Dsprik's post follows and I have embedded the lost pictures for your convenience. From Thread http://www.montanaowners.com/forums/...p/t-35710.html
The right red/orange wire is your focus - specifically the one behind the battery vent hose
Below is a close up of my 40 amp (sticker right on the fuse holder) fuse in this holder that the red wire goes into and out of.
The rear stabilizers supposedly have a separate 15 amp fuse according to the post.
Yes you can manually crank the landing gear up/down. You should have a crank handle attached the the front wall of the pass thru compartment. Insert it into the gear motor hole and start turning. Be aware that it will be a slow process but it will work.

My 2007 3075RL has a 30 amp in line fuse. Jacks still work fine. Only time they have ever blown a fuse is when I forgot to loosen the T handles on my JT Strongarms. Actually blew 3 before I called myself a dumb@ss and loosened those T handles.
I would guess there is binding somewhere. Or possibly your motor is giving out.

I found my fuse thanks to your assistance. It was on a pink wire. I'll try to post a pic.
