In-.Command
If you have this "feature" how is it working out?
Not sure I would really want this. Not sure I could have it deleted from the Legacy package. So I'm looking for some input.
Thanks.

In-Command System
I purchased my 3820FK in April of 2017 so far the In-Command System has been flawless. Love being able to control things from my iPhone and watch slides and awning extend in close spaces. Turn lights on or off while in bed etc. Lots of advantages.

The BCM box in the storage compartment has manual switches if the digital monitor fails. I use my I-phone with the In-Command and that gives me the freedom to walk around while the slides are moving. Having the bluetooth for lights and awning is convenient also. Took awhile to accept this product and it has had a glitch here and there in setting up the bluetooth, after being on the road because of a travel lock.

We have the In-Command system in our 3790RD. We had the Legacy package so you don't really have any choice if you select the package.
If you don't have a smart phone, it may not be that useful. The fixed panel you use to interact with the system is not the best touch panel (its cheap). But with a smart phone its nice to be able to walk around, in or outside the rig and operate the lights, slides, check levels etc.
I do often wish the system could do a little more, like dim some of the lights, (or change color perhaps), but we are Ok with it as it is right now.
Hope this helps
Chris

I agree with the above. It has a lot of positives. I'm a little distrustful of high tech stuff on something like an RV that has the poor workmanship I've seen; but so far, no problems. This biggest plus is being able to walk around to verify slide or awning clearance while operating. My biggest gripe is the pass code that cannot be disabled; once the screen locks (30 minutes maximum lock time) it takes six key strokes just to turn on a light; I'm not sure that is real progress.

I was able to disable the passcode on our '16 3790RD. I hated that as well. It took me about an hour, but found how to disable it.
Our In-Command acted funny when it came and after 3 months it would stop responding. After our dealer got in touch with the manufacturer, it was determined that our main control board in the basement was bad. The new one took about 25 minutes to replace and it has been flawless ever since. One thing that does scare me is that the main control board, if not covered under warranty, has a cost of $1800 The company stated it could have been an electrical surge that did it, or could have been a bad board since it was made, but recommended a surge protector. We now have a Surge Guard hardwired in with the control panel in the control area of the rig. If I had to do it over again, I'd go with Progressive Industries just because of the warranty.

Certainly going into this system raises all kinds of concerns but we have to accept how technology is a large part of everyday life.
We think as well that the key to ease of use is by pairing to a smart phone or two. We do find the main keyboard to be a little unresponsive to the touch especially in cooler weather. We now use one of our smart phones to operate it most of the time.
The DW was far more skeptical when we first looked at this system but now after the learning curve it is a breeze.

If you remember, can you share that? I have not been able to find it and ASA claims it can't be done. I'm ok with the passcode on my phone, but I figure if someone is inside my units, looking at the control panel, it may be a little late to worry about a passcode.

I installed a Hughs Autoformer with surge protection; hard wired.

I won't be at the rig again until Friday as I have to work tomorrow, but I will try to remember. I do remember it is under the settings, where you put in the passcode or change it, however if I remember correctly, it is to the right side of the screen instead of center. I will try to remember. Also wonder if we have the same version InCommand??!

Golfmedik: My unit is also a 2016 model and when it went in for the annual warranty the dealer also replaced my In-Command BCM board. They must have seen something while working on it and did the replacement. The Bluetooth connection sometimes takes forever to connect and I wish they would just run an additional wire for those situations. They have done this with some of the newer models already.
