At the house I use Comcast/XFinity.
I get 120MB speed (but I pay extra to get it). I have a 1 TB cap and I find I have to monitor that as I come close to that usage every month.

Have you ever checked the speed on your phone down there?

Those using the Verizon's Jetpack did youhave any problems hooking up your Wi-Fi printer to the jetpack and printing from your laptop?

When we were full time we had a MiFi with Verizon. Our printer was a cheap $70.00 blue tooth printer and worked great with the MiFi from our laptop, phones, or I-pad.

I print off of my Windows 8 pad and my I phone through my Jet pack. Neither one will print without going through the Jet pack. Or if they will I don't know how to make them do it.

For those who are curious, I was in a restaurant in another part of town this evening, and got a full 4 bars LTE. Checked internet speed on my hotspot, and got 43mbs. If my house had that kind of cell service, I would seriously consider using it all the time.

New Plan
We have had a jetpack for several years but only use it when we need a secure connection. Just yesterday we switched to the Verizon $55.00/month plan (single phone) plus $10,00 for the line access for the jetpack. We get 5GB of data with this plan. 2GB was all we really needed but this gives us some greater flexibility. Very pleased with the jetpack performance although it probably is less than our Cox connection at home.

I wouldn't use it at home for that reason. Good thoughts on using the phone as a hotspot instead of another line for the jetpack when on the road.

If your using the phone hot spot, can you connect a lap top or a tablet or do you need the Jet Pack for that?

Yes, you can connect to the hotspot and don't need a JP.

Recently going back to full time, we changed our Verizon plan to the Unlimited. Had them activate our old MiFi. So here we are about 6 days from the end of the billing cycle and we reached our 15g limit on the MiFi, so apparently they have throttled us back from 4g speeds. I really can't tell much difference.
We have only used 2 or 3 gigs on each of our phones so I'm wondering if we could turn the MiFi off for the rest of the month and just use one of our phones for a hotspot and go back to getting 4g speeds.

We tried the verizon unlimited plan the throttling was really bad so we switched back to our 40 gig unlimited talk and text plan.

We tried using unlimited data and personal hot spot throu Verizon and when we tried watching Netflix it wouldn’t work. When I called Verizon they said there was too much congestion in the area. They suggested I try back after 9pm. I suggested they don’t sell a package that won’t do what you said it would.

VZ we had 12 high speed then throttle back They told us unused data would roll over to next month as we were not full timers then we thought we would have tons of data when we went out Turns only 1 month will roll over
