inverter location
I'm quite sure my inverter/charger is shot, but I cannot find it anywhere. anyone know the hiding spot on a mountaineer 2007 model 342PHT. I've narrowed it down to 1. invisible or 2. behind the CB panel.

Unless you have had your rig specially made, my guess would be you don't have an inverer/charger, you have a converter/charger. Follow the cables from the battery.

My converter is located just inside the entrance door below the breaker box on our unit! We have a 2004 2980RL. Some of the converters in the newer units are located under the steps going up to the bedroom. If your unit has vents in the steps that's probably where your converter is. Take out the screws holding the vented step face and see if it is in there. If not, I'm sure some of the other MOC members will be chiming in on this and let you know where theers are located. What are your symtoms causing you to think you have a bad converter?

Rondo, my battery shows 13.5 volts on my meter, but if i run the furnace, 12v lights, etc, everything browns out on shore power, at home or campground. No sign of vented step and no vents in the CB area, CB is at eye level standing on the ground looking in the open entry door,

We have had three montanas, and converters were always either under the steps or behind the fuse panel.

Just a hint. If your converter isn't working, your frig isn't working either. It needs 12 volts. If the frig is working and you have a bad converter, you will likely have a dead battery soon. I think in the late models it is under the steps going into the upper level.

Yup, same place for mine but it's easier to get to for me if I remove the inside wall panel from the basement area next to the laundry bin. Mine is right behind it.
To remove my cover I rotate the clips holding it on, then angle the wall panel slightly then slide the cover out. The converter is screwed down and plugged into an outlet nearby. Hopefully, yours is as easy to get to. The biggest pain is removing all the junk I keep in the basement to get to the panel.
