Front Jacks bent
Tow truck driver nor myself knew you should not try to disconnect rig when front wheels are up off the ground. When the driver hand pulled to disconnect it didn't and bent both adjustable sleeves that go up and down. The legs are O.K. Lifted rig up to pull out the legs and set sleeves on blocks. I hope you have the picture. Here is my question. The repair shop says for safety reasons the whole assesmbly should be replaced. That means cutting the welds to get the assemnbly out and rewelding to instal. Since the legs are not bend and the outside sleeve that is welded looks good to me, shouldn't the shop just have to order adjustable arms that the gears pull up and down. My insurance company is covering this, but I don't want anyone to get ripped off. Any input on this will be appreciated.

I agree with TLightning.
The way those sleeves attach to the camper may be off just a little. That is all it would take for them to slide out and cause a lot of trouble. I've replaced leg assemblies and their mounts before. There is not a lot of surface area in contact and once the 'pinch' bolts are loosened the legs come right off.
I'm not at all impressed with the common practice used to attach the legs to the frame. It wouldn't take much for them to cause safety issues.

Agree, get it fixed all the way. I believe you are talking about the front landing legs. They are not welded to the frame. They set in a "U" bracket (two of them) and have one carriage bold on each bracket holding them in place. You can see them behind the propane bottles. The "U" bracket is welded.
They may move freely without weight on them but find the small warping with the weight will bind them. Again I suggest replacing them all the way.
If you do and are mechanically inclined keep both top portions with the gears for spare parts.
Good luck.

Thanks everybody. I feel much more at ease after your replys. Great idea about keeping all the spare parts too.
