Hauling with a full water tank.
After reading that some fresh water tanks have straps on rheum, and some don't... We have a 2014 Montana, so am assuming it does have straps.
Do you travel with a full tank so water???

Have traveled several trips with full freshwater tank on very rough roads, have traveled many thousand miles with 1/3+ freshwater for those just in case moments and have had no issues yet.

I've made a couple of trips with a full water tank, but I wouldn't do it regularly. One, our RV lifestyle with onboard filter most always includes a fresh water spigot somewhere on the campground and Two ... I've been inside the belly and know how thin walled the tanks are nowdays and have seen the two pretty sorry straps that are installed around my 3150's tank. We do usually carry a bit less than 1/3 for those times of need.

Did a few times as a newbie. No problem. But soon realized we did not need to since we do not boondock. Now we typically carry less than half a tank for flushing and hand washing while on the road.

I agree with what Garry is saying about his travels. I usually run with a half full water tank as we spend most nights when going from one point to another in a Casino parking lot or at a Walmart. We just traveled Route 66 from Ill. to Kingman Az. on some very rough roads and had no problems.

1/3 full when traveling and full when boondocking. We fill for boondocking as close to the spot as possible.

Wouldn't count on it. Our new line Big Sky doesn't have them.

Hi
I checked ours and it has straps.
We now have 85,000 miles on the trailer and all with full water.

We have always traveled with a full tank of water in all 4 of our previous trailers with no problems, so we are now doing the same with our 3790RD.

We just returned from a trip to Bishop, CA (actually Bishop Creek). Pulled it up from So Cal to ~8000 feet with it full. We didn't have any problems with it.

I fill my fresh water tank as full as I can get it so the water doesnt have a chance to slosh around. It's amazing how much weight transfers around if you only fill up a little. Water weighs 8.8 lb's a gallon so 10 gallons is about 88 lb's. It also helps to keep the trailer from bouncing around so much.

We have never left home with a full water tank. Never dry camp, therefore, no need for extra water. At 8.3 lbs/gallon, it adds a lot of weight.
