The frame broke some where in front they took cover off under front couldn't find it. They said would have remove the wall in bedroom to find what happen estimated cost $30,000 to repair then insurance co would have to make sure would not happen again. Insurance didn't want that reasonability.

I hope ctomwood is happy with the new coach and enjoys many years with it. As mlh points out, same frame manufacturer. The main reason we did not consider CC is the sidewall framing was not welded together. FR chooses to rivet and or screw their frame together with braces. As of the last show we attended, this was still true.

I guess I made the mistake of letting Keystone repair my frame on the 06 3400 when it broke, I should have contacted the insurance company. I would have taken a total and the cash. I don't think the CC will be any better but wish him the best of luck. Wonder if he will put all the "stuff" on the back. I would have guessed the frame broke at the back.

Plenty of additional stress on the frame with that rig. Best of luck with your new Cedar Creek frame.

I guess there is a good reason Keystone voids the warranty when you put a hitch on the back and start pulling stuff with it. Just because the frame failed toward the front doesn't mean the extra stress on the back didn't contribute to it.

I guess this is where I ask all you barnyard engineers this question.
You are all on board when you put 6 hydraulic pistons on the frame then put the entire 14-15k rig in the air. Don't even try and convince me it does it perfectly level all the way up.
Let someone put 300 lbs on a hitch in the rear and you are all over it as the cause of frame problems, hang nails or whatever.

My Brass Svenson Valve went out in my Montana, and they told me it was because I put weight on my hitch? Well was most likely a contributing factor?

And what was the repair cost? Partial information leads to confusion!!

Well from watching the level up system operate scores of times it looks like the weight is fairly evenly distributed when leveling and it is a static load not weight bouncing around on the rear of the camper only. The rear 4 jacks all come down at the same time. The good thing is I will bet his pin weight was light. Don't know if that "stuff" was a contributing factor but it may have been tempting fate. I mean my 06 3400 broke with nothing on the back.
