Tire options

Looking at tire options for our 2014 3155RL. Original tires are 4 yrs old and am not going to trust them when we start traveling next summer. I see many positive posts about the Sailun S637’s, can’t find anybody in Montana that sells them. Any other recommendations?
Have any of you guys went to a 17” or 18” wheel in order to use LT tires? I see Redwood and DRS come with those, seems like a good way to go. Curious about that.

I just put a nail in one of my Sailuns that is unrepairable. I could not find anyone local that stocked the tire but just ordered a single tire from SimpleTire.com - free shipping.

Goodyear 614's are an option, but more expensive.

In addition to simpletire.com I found that Big O carries Sailuns. I got them in WY but there are many Big O stores in MT.

There’s a Big O in Kalispell, which is only a hour and a half away.... I’ll check their prices... thanks for the info!

put the sailuns on today also tire pressure and temp monitoring system. Now ready for open road.

Coach.... what TPM system did you use? My 2017 F350 is set up for trailer TPM, thought I might look into putting on our Montana

TST 507 very easy to install and program. Did not use the anti theft connectors took the sensors out of their housing and discarded them.

There are many LT tires for 16" rims. You do not need to go to a 17 or 18. I went with 5 new sailuns this year. $148 installed at local tire store that had them in stock. I am in Maryland.

sh where in Maryland and did you have the correct pressure rated wheels? ie..110 psi.

The tires were purchased at Barnes service center in Westminster MD. Yes my rims are rated at 110 psi as stamped on the rims. I have read that most rims from 2010 and up should be 110 psi rated.

We have two years+ and about 10,000 miles on our Sailuns and could not be happier with them. Came from our local Big O. Will definately be replacing them with more Sailuns when the time comes.

I believe Sailun only has 2 sizes in 16", 235/80/R16 and 235/85/R16. They are rated at 4080# and 4400# per tire at 110 psi.

Where might one find an OEM rim to match my '17 305RL? I was going to chuck the China Bombs and put on 235/85/R16 Sailun. Wanted to get 5 but my spare steel rim may not be able to hold the 110psi? Thoughts? Hate to pay dealer full price.

Tredit still makes the rims for Montana and should have a replacement. But your steel wheel is rated at 110 PSI already so the only reason to change is the esthetics of the look.

Dean you can go to simpletire.com buy tires and they can ship to you or they have tire places they contract with to do installs. I ordered a set from them and I had discount tire install them for me, there installers they contracted where too far away from me.I had 5 tires mounted and they discarded old tires for $160.

Simpletire.com doesn't list any installers in Dover. However, if you do a search around Dover, perhaps one will pop up within a reasonable distance, and then have the tires drop-shipped to the installer. Perhaps I just lucked out because their recommended installer had the equipment and the space for me to bring the FW to them.

Just had to find a shop with a big enough lot to install them at. Fortunately there are quite a few locally.

Yes we converted from ST23580R-16 to P21575R-17.5 Goodyear G114 16 ply 130 lb tire. Purchased 4 from TrailerTiresandWheels.com mounted on rims. Rims have weights glued to inside of rim. The 4 tires were mounted on rims and shipped on a pallet. The tire is a little narrower like 1/2" and a little shorter like 1/2" than the 16" that were previously on our unit. We run 120 lbs pressure mainly because we don't need any more than that and that is all the higher our 1hp compressor will pump.

The rims are machined and a very close match to the rims on our Dodge 3500. They have a wide selection of rims. Just call them. The tires have incredibly deep tread and are re-grovable. Going on our 3rd year with them and have had no issues. It's a very stable ride. I didn't need tires this heavy but I sure don't miss having 3 tire issues each trip and major RV damage.

I think that you will find that there are a lot of happy campers that now have Sailun tires on their Fifthwheels. I know when I started my research for good tires I had a lot of doubters with my decision on Sailun tires. Don't seem to have that anymore 😉😀 as the results verify my decision. There are lots of long theads on this topic if you look. The biggest decision is deciding if you want to have the exact same size tire as the original or go a bit taller size which gets you an even more robust tire in weight carrying ability. I went with exactly the same size and have no regrets. Look on the web for unhappy Sailun tire results and see if you can find any. The only blowout that I found in my research was when a guy used them on a DRW and had a blowout when they were rated for SRW ONLY.
