Jacking the trailer

Those of you who have jacked up their trailer to work on wheels, brakes etc. Would you tell me how you did it. e.g. Where do you place the jack (or jacks), what size jack, how much lift to bring the wheels off the ground, do you jack it connected to the truck or on its front leg (sees scary).

Any tips or advice gratefully received.
