Lithium + PD4575K18LS8 converter?
I have recently learned my present converter Progressive Dynamics PD4575K18LS8 CAN handle lithium batteries. https://www.etrailer.com/question-354675.html
We would like to do some limited boondocking come spring (Moab, Grand canyon, YS, Glacier etc.) AND down the road add solar. I'm trying to do this in stages to spread out the cost.
I'm estimating about 15A to run the furnace (absolute necessity) and misc stuff (smoke detector etc.). I currently have a 90AH LA battery. I understand you can only draw it down by 50% so that means 45AH use? So that means 45AH÷15A= 3 hours of furnace run time. Is my math right?
Ok where I'm going with this is, if my present converter can handle lithium, buy 2 Valence U27-12XP 12 volt 138Ah batteries, and drop them in parallel (=276AH). Based on 80% drawdown for lithium that would give me about 14 hours run time at 15A?
Question: has anyone dropped in lithium batteries with a Progressive Dynamics PD4575K18LS8 converter?
I have already ordered a Victron BMV-712 battery monitor to monitor everything.
Ok, your thoughts, inputs recommendations?
Thanks
