Hi everyone!

Glad I found this site!

We just bought a 2014 Montana 3725RL. We would love suggestions and tips since we are new at this!!

We are looking into replacing the mattress - it is AWFUL!!! And I want a washer dryer combo so suggestions on these two items would be great.

Welcome to the forum.
We got a good memory foam pad to put on top of the mattress and it works great. Our Splindede combo is terrific and wouldn't trade it for anything.

Congratulations on your new rig, wishes for many years of travel.

Yes, the mattress that comes in these are terrible, but we purchased a high-end mattress pad at Macy's and have been very comfortable with that mattress over two years now.

We decided that we can do two weeks of laundry in 1 1/2 hours at most laundromats, either at campgrounds or in nearby towns. Didn't see the need to haul a washer/dryer around. Besides, Becky uses the closet where the unit would go for her sewing machines and supplies.

We bought the 3 inch memory foam with gel pad. Love it. Made all the difference in the world. We have the splendide washer dryer combo and would buy it again in a heartbeat. Can't beat the convenience. Does it save u money no not in the long run time yes.

Welcome to the forum from the Pacific North West. Ditto on the memory foam, we have the washer combo but do not use it often. It is different if we are on the road more than two weeks at a time

Enjoy your new rig and time will tell you what to add.

Welcome to the forum! You'll find a great group of knowledgeable folks here ready and willing to help. We have a Spendide Combo and don't use it in the winter when our employer (US Fish and Wildlife) provide free laundry as a part of our compensation. The rest of the year we use it extensively. We cut down the plywood support for our bed to queen size to give us more room than the king gave us. We then tossed the original mattress and brought in the almost new pillow top queen mattress that had been in our guest room when we sold the stick house.

Welcome to the forum and good luck with your new rig. We have a Sleep Number bed that we brought with us when we went full time from the S & B. We have the Splendide washer/ dryer combo ventless. We love the combo but would do the vented one next time.

Safe travels,

Les

Another recommendation for a Sleep Number bed. Best decision we ever made (other than buying our Montana'a, that is)! We have also had the Spendide (although we have the stackables) units for years and have never regretted that decision either.

Welcome to the forum! I think your model selection is the BEST! (see below)

I feel your pain with that standard mattress. After the first night we got online with "mattressinsider" and ordered the 8" Luxury Cool-MAXģ Gel Foam RV Mattress II. We begged them to rush ship it, which they did. We had the exact same mattress on our 2008 3400RL (queen) and loved it.

We have slept on this one for almost a year and it is great.

As far as the washer/dryer goes, we are full time and would not be without them. We went with Splendide side by side units (vented). We had a Splendide combo unit (vented) in our last Montana.

There are advantages and disadvantages to combo units vs. side by side units in my opinion. With a small combo unit you will still have some storage in the washer/dryer closet for the 3725RL model. You can put a load in and forget about it, no changing from washer to dryer.

With the larger side by side you will fill up that closet area. Instead of doing small loads several times a week you can do larger loads.

In our opinion there was so much storage throughout the 3725RL that we didn't mind giving up the space for the larger units.

Hope this all helps. Maybe others will chime in with some good tips and ideas.

Glad to have you join us and welcome to the MOC family.

Like others we replaced the factory mattress with a good residential pillow top one and when we recently traded our unit for a new one we gladly transferred our pillow top to the new one and let the dealer have the NEW factory matt for our trade in. We also have a splendide combo washer/dryer that is vented and life is great, isn't it!!!

Welcome to the forum. If you haven't bought a washer/dryer yet, we would suggest that you hold off for a while. Follow the forum and ask questions of your neighbors in campgrounds. From that you can learn what is best for your own situation and get the right thing. There are pluses and minuses with everything. The Laundromat is fast but can be expensive. Separate units in your rig allows for washing and drying at the same time, but adds weight and takes up closet space. We have the combo washer/dryer and it works well for us. There is a learning curve that goes with it however. We have found that if you fold all of your wash like you would to put it away it washes better and don't load higher than the hub on the washer drum. Stuff that isn't subject to wrinkling can be dried in the dryer. Stuff that wrinkles we hang on a clothes line rack that we made that hangs over the ladder in back.
