Plastic wire holder under slide
We noticed today that the curved plastc that holds the wires under the slides has broken under the TV slide, is almost broken under the sofa slide and is OK under the kitchen slide. The break is at the outside edge where the plastic is bolted to the slide. There seems to be a stress point when the slides move which may have caused the break.
I duct taped it to keep the "harness" in place when I close the slides. Short of replacing the whole piece is there another fix for this? Replacing the piece would require re-routing the wires through the new piece. I need to use something flexible but durable if I'm going to repair it. I have some roof repair tape that I'm going to put over the duct tape until I get home.

That happened to me and I fixed it using plastic ties. Others have used hinges but I am not mechanically adept so this worked great for us and still is holding up and does not look bad, either. The link to my post with photo is http://www.montanaowners.com/forums/...earchTerms=tie

We have a hinge on one and duct tape on the other. Duct tape has done very well. Just need to replace it once in a while. This is the side where the hinge broke the plastic.
Happy trails..................

4 inch galvanized door hinges, 4 1/4 X 20 bolts with lock washers and nuts, 4 #8 self tapping screws into side of slide where the plastic is mounted.....Then paint them black to match undercarriage.....

Thanks all. The duct tape did not support the weight of the harness but I had some plastic coated wire ties that seemed to do the trick for now. When we get home I'll do the hinge repair on all of them.
Thanks again.

When ours broke I just removed the broken piece where it cracked and drilled a couple of new holes in the plastic and remounted it. It has held up for about the last two years like that, but I am thinking of putting in a hinge now.

I fixed two with hinges...then on the last trip, one of the plastic pieces broke again...at the hinge.
