I need a source b(update)
I need a source for compartment doors. The tailgate on our new truck is 3 inches taller than our 06. I never had a problem hooking up to the rig with the old. The new truck has a 3 section tonneau cover that blocks the view of the hitch. I was higher that the hitch with the pin and with the tailgate down I bashed in the street side of the front basement door. Of course it was locked at the time too so I had to pound on the center several times while turning the key to get the lock open. I then had to use my 18" straight slot screwdriver to pry the curb side out enough to grab a hold of. Because the panel was pushed out of the frame I had to literally tear the door open. I didn't destroy it enough that it wouldn't hook open but it was close. I can still latch it the curb side but the street side is toast. I have checked several sites and only found one (RV Parts Station) Where I can get a 61x22 door with radius corners, gel coat, with 2 thumb locks and one key lock. The cost being a paltry 300.95 not counting shipping. As the subject line stated before this long winded tale I need another source or 3. I like to shop around and so far RV Parts is the only viable source I have found.

Thought that the doors are made by lippert. Is this not correct? John

I had my cargo doors turn brown at the bottoms and warranty wouldn't cover them ... I just had dealer order them and installed them myself. You have to order the whole door... frame and all ... at least that's how mine came.

That is the way it works I guess. None of the salvage and surplus places has one so far. RV surplus in Elkhart is looking now and will call me tomorrow. My dealer is back in Wisconsin and is no help anyway.. If RV Surplus is a bust I will have to order one myself..

Got tired of fighting to keep front basement door open. Sooo I decided to fix it as best as I can. I started with a flat blade screw driver and popping the panels back inside the channel aluminum. I got about 8 inches front the lower right radius corner and couldn't go any further. The panel was pushed in towards the compartment and I was at a loss as to how to get the panel back into the track.. Bing!! The little (very little) light went on above my head. I went to the truck and grabbed my Dewalt circular saw and cut the channel in the middle of the radius. I had the lower edge stuffed back inside the lower track and I used a ratchet strap to pull the lower track tight against the panel while I drilled the outside and inside of the of the track then pop riveted it to the panel. I then used the same strap to cinch the the right track against the panel and did the tuck, drill and pop rivet thing on that. I then used silicone caulk at the cut and around the bottom junction of the aluminum track and the glass panel. Betsy couldn't tell that it was damaged. I may still order a new door but not till we get back nearer the manufacturer because shipping cost 40 dollars MORE than the new door assembly.
