Water Leak
I have a leak (slow drip) on door side, about 2 ft right of door.
This is a 3402RL 39' 5th wheel. I guess I'm asking for any advice or warnings before I tackle taking off the bottom coated corrugated and maybe what I should or shouldn't do.
Thanks for any advice,
Tom

I took off the back half of my underbelly many times on my 2012 3402RL to work on valves etc... it is no big deal just take off aluminum strips on ea side and then go under and take off the screws going across and then peel back the under belly and take a look and see what is going on

I would smell the water that is dripping to tell if fresh or gray water. Quite possibly it's a holding tank.

Yeah if you do a search you'll find that Montana's have a problem with their tanks bursting or breaking off at the inlet...only way to tell is pull the underbelly....or fill up each tank one at a time to see if the leak gets worse but that is flirting with disaster cause if it is breaking at the inlet, filling a tank can then cause it to split wide open......don't ask how I know this but yeah that's what happens lol lol

Could be that it's just rain water (if you've been driving through any). One thing to do is replace the lame and not effective aluminum strips from the factory. I picked up some 1" alum. "C" (or "U") channel from my local Lowe's. Used the old strips as templates to drill holes and used the same screws to mount the new ones. Much stiffer!

If you do drop the belly panel, be sure and push up on the middle of the corrugated panel before you start ... I'll bet you have a nice pool of some kind of water sagging down in the middle. Water will run out both sides saving you a bath should you just start taking out screws.

I have seen the black tank flush leaking from the crimp fitting on the tank and had to fix that.

Our black tank cable valve failed a couple years ago, while still under warranty. Turned out the tank flange, the discharge flange on the other side of the valve, and the valve itself, broke on two of the four corners where the bolts hold it all together. If you have to replace the valve, I would suggest doing what the CW repair guys did with ours, which was cutting the horizontal pipe after the elbow, and when putting it all back together, used a rubber sewer coupling where they cut the pipe along with hose clamps. Haven't had an issue since.
