3rd AC Unit
Any 3910 owners (or similar model) have any idea if it is possible to add a third ac to the fantastic vent opening in the galley area? Working down south and at 101 degrees it is difficult to keep inside temp below 80 to 85 in late afternoon.

Have you tried some of this on your windows? http://www.lowes.com/ProductDisplay?...llow&cId=PDIO1 One roll of this pretty much covered all our windows and let us get by with one AC in the Southwest last year. Hit 95-100 every day of ten in Phoenix, yet inside was under 80.

Just posted this on the EXcapers facebook page in response to another thread: Having given it some more thought I could use the lottery money. I'd buy a third AC unit for this rig. Over 102 outside, heat index over 110, main awning and three window awnings out, three Magna Shades out, 7 windows with foam boards in at least part of them, foam pads in vent openings, reflective foam in the shower sky light and seven solar panels shading much of the roof and we're just holding 80 degrees in here. Knowing AC units capacity, even in sticks and bricks, we aren't doing bad, but man we could have stayed in Yuma

Have you tried closing off the step vents that allow major cold air to escape into the basement? I capped them off with cardboard (insulation) on backside and covered my floor heat vents with magnetic covers. I can hold it down to 71-72 in 100 degree heat and high humidity. Of course, you have to remove the setup to use the heat in the Winter. As far as a third unit goes, if you go that route I would run independent power to plug into the 20 amp plug at the pedestal to avoid being too strapped on amps. The ceiling may not be braced properly in that vent either?

Thanks for the answers. I like the idea of putting it on a completely different circuit, with its own plug. How would you know if the roof would have the supports for it?

We noticed the living area does not get very cold. We did notice the bedroom gets really cold. We add a fan and push some of the cold bedroom air towards the rear living area and that really helps. It is really too bad that you have to do all of the things trying to cool down the living area. I think if the AC pushed out more cold air it would really help. I have put my hand up to the vents and the air is not very strong coming out of the vents.

You could remove the fan trim moldings and see what kind of structure is around that vent, or you could have your VIN and call and ask Keystone. Both my units are ducted. First thing I did was change the ceiling discharge vent covers in the bathroom and bedroom to ones that could be closed. That way I can restrict some air where less is needed and force more into the larger area of the trailer. I assume, since the quick cool dump hasn't been mentioned you have the quiet return style?
