Waterheater
Wouldn't you know. We sold the house and moved into the monty till new rv garage and apartment is built. Every thing was okay till monday. Ended up having shoulder replacement on the 9th then the electric side of the water heater quite. The dealer that is 5 miles away will not look at it without 150 service call. So for now we will have to use more propane.

IF it is just the heating element, pretty easy do it yourself repair. However like you said, with propane you have hot water.

The most common causes of this are:
1, Heating element fried due to a lack of water in the tank.
2. The cheap On/Off switch inside the heater crapped out.
3. The thermostat/High Limit Switch is shot.
I suspect it isn't #1 if it was working and just quit. I doubt it was #2 as there would be no reason to be flipping the switch since it was working.
My money is on #3 especially as the 2012 era water heater had a bunch of defective thermostats. Suburban has since switched suppliers for the thermostats. If the "Reset" button (under the rubber cover) is red, you have a defective style. The new improved ones are gray. Call Suburban and explain the problem. They sent us (and four others I know of) a replacement. Even if you have to buy one, they are only around $30 (ensure it has the gray reset).
It is very easy to change. A screw driver is the only tool required. The left one under the rubber cover is the AC thermostat. The right one is for the 12V side. You likely will see scorch residue on the AC thermostat to help identify it.

Could be the switch at water heater, last month we where in Pismo and for no reason on our third day there the W/H switch just fried. Since I also have a switch in side, I removed switch at water heater and coupled the wires together. I hate those cheap switches, usually they only go out when switching them on, but this time it had been in use for two day. Who would have guessed??

If you have Coach-net call them and see if they can refer you to a mobile tech in the area.

Our water heater quit on electric during the summer. I tried to operate the switch outside on the water heater itself. It was seized and I had to use force to switch it off. I then toggled it on/off several times to loosen it up. The water heater started working after that. I suspect the internal contacts are fried. I'll either by-pass or replace it when I get a chance.

Padan, i had the same problem this past week. The thermostats overheat protection wire had melted. Put on a new thermostat and fried it immediately. Took the heating element out and it had bare wires showing. Another new thermostat and heating element fixed the problem.

Must be a bad time of the year for thermostats, just had to replace ours this past week.
