Furnace and A/C
2020 3120RL. When we turn on the furnace, it seems to run fine, but the rear A/C unit seems to go on. After the furnace reaches its set temp and turns off, the rear air continues to run. Is this normal?

I suspect the heat pump is kicking on. If so, that is normal.

Ours will do that if the thermostat is set to auto. For heat, set it for heat. For a/c set it to cool.

Make sure your FAN mode is set to "AUTO".

Another try!
When the furnace comes on, so does the rear a/c unit. Once the air temp come up to the set temp and furnace shuts off, the rear air continues to blow cool air out of the ceiling air ducts. This has never happened before. In the past, once the inside air gets to the desired temp, everything shuts off.

As stated above, check your "fan" mode and make sure its on "auto" not set on high or low. High and low settings will cause the AC fan to run constantly, and it doesn't necessarily switch from AC to Furnace. Make sure everything is off to start with. If the fan is running and you attempt to switch, it still might not change. Turn everything off first. Make sure everything quits running first. Then cycle through the fan, furnace, heat pump, settings. When fan come up, put it in auto. Then let everything turn itself on.

Doctor021,
Does your rig have an In-Command unit?
With the In-Command, the Heat Pump/AC unit works as primary heating unit and the gas furnace is secondary.
The settings for Gas ONLY heat are Heat/Gas/Fan(OFF).
Hope this helps,

It will run continuously if you have it set to fan instead of auto
