winterizing a 374fl
I tried winterizing but the pump wont draw the antifreeze up. I have a 2019 377fl highcountry. I put my hose into the winterization connection the other end in the jug. I turned on the pump but it wont draw it up. Do I need to pump it in with some sort of pump thru the city water connection.

Many have had to use two washers to get a good seal and then raise the bottle up near the entry port to make it easy to pull.

Hold the jug up high, higher the better. I do it this way as I could not get it to draw.

Same as above. I set my bottle of pink-stuff on a 6 foot step ladder, (have a long hose) higher than where the hose connects to the trailer. Anything lower than the hose connection and mine won't pump.

And how do you winterize the black tank flush line?
After the pink stuff has been run through all the lines, attach the outside shower hose (blue coiled hose) to the black tank flusher. Turn on the shower (hot or cold, considering both were flushed earlier in the process) and it will flow to the black tank. Open the black tank valve, with it begins to run pink, you know you have done enough. Unhook the hose and call the job done.

Just turn the cone washer in the winterize port around so the cone tip pushes the tip on the check valve open. Attach hose to the port and other end in jug, and turn pump on it will draw the pink stuff, don't need to raise the jug.
Just be sure to turn the cone washer back around so check valve can work, easy peesy.

Haha, I just tried to winterize my new 2021 3220rl and ran into the same problem. First off thanks for the info to be able to complete this process, at first I thought I must have been doing something wrong until I researched this problem. More important my question is am I going to have a limp shower when I am boondocking and using this pump, or should I start looking to upgrade the pump now to avoid further frustrations? Thanks

Don't know why? It's just that the pump can't pull/open the check valve in the winterize port behind the cone tipped washer.

I replaced a water pump only once on a pervious travel trailer. I stayed with the exact same brand, model, and size as the factory installed. I hope I never-ever have to replace the one in my Montana though.

try putting antifreeze in a five gallon bucket with a SUMP pump in the bucket then onto the water fittings it will pressurize and push the fluid any place you want it

No pump draw when hooked to winterize
You need to turn the winterize knob just a hair. It happened to me the other day with my 3810ms

the pumps don't pump air; only water
you need the antifreeze higher then the pump to get it started; I would put the gallon of antifreeze on top of the compartment door with a ~4ft garden hose to the connection; then all goodness

This works great no lifting , only thing I do is to take the tip of my little finger and gently push on the check valve making sure it moves

KENCARE hit the nail on the head that's only way mine will work. BTW I used the search feature when I couldn't get mine to work like I thought it should. Happy Camping !

also the pump will draw better if the VOLUMN of the draw is less... meaning use a 3/8 diameter hose connected to a garden hose adapter.....

I had the same issue with mine this year, so I am very interested in this thread. Can someone explain the cone washer and it’s location? Thank you.

Might not be the pump, I replaced my shower head and it is a lot better now. FYI

It's right where you screw the hose into the winterize port.
