What you need is Generator Grounding Plug to fool the GFCI.
Go to a big box hardware store and buy a replacement 3 prong plug. Get a small wire, it doesn't need to be big, you are only having it see a connection, not carrying current. Connect the NEUTRAL prong to the GROUND prong. DO NOT HOOK ANY WIRE TO THE HOT PRONG! Now, plug that into an outlet ON THE GENERATOR itself.
No more tripping of the GFCI.

I talked to champion and they said I could do that or remove the cover on the generator motor and add the jumper wire there..I did that..maybe I will take your suggestion and add the plug .. sure can't hurt..

Using the plug makes it easier to remove when it is not required I would think.

I use the plug to fool my hardwired EMSHW50C when using my Honda2000i otherwise the
EMSHW50C gives a fault code.

Other call this a bonding plug. I've been using one for a couple years on my Champion 3100. No issues. It does fake out the GFCI and EMS no ground conditions.
Need to make one for this weekend for the new Predator 3500 genny.

I just made a neutral ground bond plug for my Predator 3500. It took care of the codes I was getting on my Progressive Industries HW50. MY Predator 3500 generator runs my 15,000 BTU A/C just fine at only 57 db.

Finally got my gfi from tripping... about 3 months ago I replaced the factory gfi with a couple that I picked up at Walmart..big mistake..they did not like the generator,,keep tripping..last week went to Lowe's..picked up new gfi's..run the generator for 2 days..no gfi tripping..
